Spirit of Atlantis
Spirit of Atlantis by Duane K. McCullough proposes that Atlantis was located around Lake Isabel (Lago de Izabel) near the east coast of Guatemala close to the Atlantic coast. McCullough based his theory on a comparison of the topography of the area with the description of the city’s surroundings as described by Plato. How often have we encountered that claim? This book which is available for free on the Internet(a) contains a number of radical ideas that are very hard to accept. For example the author claims that Ogham writing came from America to Europe and that the accepted chronologies of ancient Greece, Egypt and Europe generally have been artificially extended by many hundreds of years. He goes even further and suggests that the Atlanteans may have had steam-powered flight!
A.R.E. is also interested in Guatemala where they are planning an expedition to Piedras Negras in the north west of the country beside the Usumacinta River. This is the site of a Mayan city and according to Edgar Cayce the location of the third Hall of Records.
