Johann Georg Justus Ballenstedt
Johann Georg Justus Ballenstedt (1756-1840), was a German pastor and part-time geologist. He endeavoured to reconcile the details in Genesis with the scientific knowledge of his day(a).
The impressive Atlantisforschung.de website has two papers relating to Ballenstedt and his comments on Atlantis, which he placed in the Atlantic. This was expressed in an essay(b) in the publication series Archive for the Latest Discoveries from the Primeval World (Volume 6, Issue 1, Quedlinburg and Leipzig, 1824, pp. 54-58) first published by him and Johann Friedrich Krüger ) under the title ” IV. Disappearance of the Isle of Atlantis “.
