The Round Towers of Atlantis
The Round Towers of Atlantis [125], by Henry O’Brien, is the misleading retitled reprint of an 1834 book by a young Irish writer. It was originally published as The Round Towers of Ireland a work that has not a single reference to Atlantis or even Plato. The book is in fact a speculative look at the possible origin of these remarkable monuments. The altered title is merely a cynical attempt to capitalise on the ongoing interest in the Atlantis mystery. The book itself is written in the rather turgid style of its time and not an easy read for a modern reader.
