Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) was a renowned Arab polymath from North Africa who had a particular interest in history. According to Egerton Sykes (Atlantis, July/Aug 1967, p.68) around 1380 he  wrote a history of the Berbers in which he outlined a connection with Atlantis.
