PROLOGUE

ATLANTIS OF THE OCEAN AND AEGEAN SEA

The Greek writer Mr Vassilis Th. Paschos, fore saw in his book “Atlantes Mr

Daniken, Not the Gods” published in 1976 (second edition 1978) the findings of the

Russian scientists in Atlantic Ocean near Madeira. Taking these ruins as a motive, Mr

Paschos gave a pre-conference (27-6-79), made announcements from the radio (28-

6-78) and gave speeches to societies and organizations and on the cruiser ‘ATLAS’ (12-

10-79). In September 1979 was invited on Television by the well known commentator

of scientific maters Helen Kypreaou.

The subject was ATLANTIS.

The new and daring theory of Mr Paschos can used favorable comments not

only among the Greek press but also among the foreign one, such as “The New

York Times” (29.8.79) “The Culture” of Western Germany etc. It is based on elements

collected since 1959 from Homer, Hesiod, Plato, Proclus, Plutarch, Marcellus and

other ancient Greek and Latin writers. (Their works are mentioned in his book), on

Egyptian papyrus, the Gilgamesh epic poetry of Babylonians, the Bible, the traditions of

the people around Mediterranean and Central America and on ancient findings in

these areas.

His project about Atlantis coincided with the delirium caught by some readers of

Erich von Daniken and he felt the need to refute the theory of this German-Swiss, who

insists that carriers of the ancient civilizations on earth were out – terrestrials as a lot of

Daniken’s elements and arguments lead to Atlantis. (KRIKOS magazine, of London,

(Feb. 1977) states that Mr Paschos gives the most informed answer to Daniken, in

his book about Atlantes). Mr Paschos dared also, to work out a geographical map of

Atlantis based on Homer’s Plato’s and Marcellus elements.

Mr Paschos answered with a few words our questions about his theory, as

follows:

A)”The initial metropolis Atlantis, the one which glorious when Poseidon

(Neptune) (the King, not the God) was its master, and reached the peak of its

development during Atlas, was a big island situated farther out the Pillars of

Hercules (today’s Gibraltar) at the centre of Atlantic Ocean”

“Cyclopean Walls, were discovered in Bahamas: Pyramids in Bermudas,

triangles and colossal stairs and a destroyed civilization in Madeira”.

B)”The main colonies of Atlantis were Santorin (Thira) Crete and Delos. The

survived people of Atlantis immigrated to the above islands and put the foundations for

the development of New Atlantis of Aegean Sea, where the tradition of the original

Atlantis was transferred. “According to the above view of mine, I correct the theory of

Prof. Aggelos Galanopoulos, verified by Spyros Marinates, F.R.S, that Atlantis existed

in Santorini, and that of Luce, research fellow, who suggested that ancient Crete was

named Atlantis, where the well-known civilization was developed. My theory

could also be verified with the recent discovery (1976) of Cyclopean Walls

similar to those in Bahamas, by Jack Yv Cousteau at the small island of Dias

(Jupiter) nearby Iraklion Crete.

1. C) The natives Atlantes (people of Atlantis) were the carriers of the well –

known pre-ancient civilizations. They were “self-developed and their civilization on

their big island Atlantis was equivalent to our own.

 

This is where all the indications and traditions of the people who live around the

Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea lead to.

They were not Daniken’s outsiders.

The people on this earth were self-tought and they were not spiritually developed

by beings of other planets as the fiction theories of Daniken’s type profess. The

civilizing findings are terrestrial, human constructions, and not creations of unknown

outside “Gods”.

To accomplish the various atlantologists, the Greek writer lists in his book a lot of

facts; and furthermore, together with his arguments and his reflections he ventures into

new aspects which are the following:

1)”The Atlantes developed powerful navy and conquered the countries from

Central America to Mesopotamia and Babylon because they used natural gases or

hydro gases as their fuel energy: (Flasks of Eolos – God of the Winds – air of

Aztecs – Whirlwind trident – Eolocentaur etc)”.

2)”They made flying apparatuses propelled by natural gases – hydrocarbons

with iron bird – Mercury, son of Maea daughter of Atlas, able to fly, with flying sandals –

Henkindon with brass bird etc; all of them were adored like Gods”.

3)Most of the “Gods” of ancient Greeks, Latins, Egyptians, Babylonians, Aztecs, Maya

etc were Heroes, Rulers, Scientists, wise men, of Atlantic origin, or Governors of Atlantis

on these countries, who become popular, legend and Gods

4)”The subject was surrounded by mystery from the survived Atlantes

themselves. They spread the idea of their divine origin in order to impose themselves.

Later, the clergies, carriers of the above spirit, created the corresponding religions for the

perpetuation of their state”.

In our edition we present some texts from the above theory which were translated into

English during the past. They taken from his book “Atlantes Mr Daniken, Not the Gods”

or they are referred to it. Some of them were published or lectured by the writer himself.

We believe that with the collection and presentation of these texts we contribute to the

idea of popularity of the theory about Atlantis. We also hope to see this book becoming a

motive for future systematic scientific works and explorations for the discovery of the real

Atlantis and its powerful civilization and for the historic recognition of the work of the

philosopher Plato about Atlantis.

a)PROLOGUE TO THE 2ND EDITION

It refers to the success the book enjoyed in Greece and also among Greeks

abroad. The reception and reviews surprised the author. The sale of 2.100 books of

the first edition and the acquisition of new material and discoveries, such as the

pyramids discovered at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in the Bermudan Triangle,

reported by Charles Berlitz, have led to a 2nd edition with appendices.

b)LETTER TO ERICH VON DANIKEN

Mr. Daniken

Ariadne’s thread leads me out of the Daedalian labyrinth of your ideas. The

creators of the very ancient civilizations were not extraterrestrial beings. They were

terrestrial, giants in spirit and self – taught. These people were not taught by others. I

match your data with my own, making them my arguments to lay the foundations for

my conclusions. All these data lead to The Atlantes, Mr Daniken.

I have also studied Atlantis in many books “The Road of Peace” and “Pioneers

in Space”. To me, the “myth” took concrete form and became real history.

 

PART A. THE REAL ATLANTIS

Chapter 1. PRE-ATLANTIS (5 pages)

Contains:

1) The progress of man from a semi – wild state to a civilized one. 2) The development

of the spirit, the first civilizations and evidence of them, up to the Atlantic period.

2. THE ATLANTIS BY PLATO (9 pages)

Plato describes Atlantis in his books “Timaeus” and “Critias”. Poseidon settled

there and ruled. The country was fertile, and the soil and subsoil were exploited it became

rich and “mythical” in beauty. His children, and especially Atlas, made Atlantis powerful

and well known by organizing the cities, developing the arts, etc., and in particular, by

creating a strong fleet.

Fragments and data revealing that the speach is real are underlined.

3. SUPPLEMENTS ON ATLANTIS (11 pages)

Plato’s history is supplemented and illuminated by very ancient sources. The ancient

writers Proclus, Plutarch, Diodorus Sikeliotis and Crantoras maintain the existence of

Atlantis and refer to very ancient sources and discoveries, moreover to the myths

supporting the theory that “they contain actual happenings”. Homer in the Odyssey talks

about Atlantis, Atlas, his daughters Pleiades, and other heroes. Hesiod mentions the

battles of the giants, and Atlas the first astronomer on Earth. Herodotus, Solon, Pindar,

Aeschylus, Apollodorus, Strabo, Stephanos Byzantios etc. provide fragments about

Atlantis, which are set out in the book.

4.ATLANTIS FROM OTHER SOURCES (10 pages)

They are mentioned:

Legends of Poseidon, Triton, Amphitrite and the Atlantes. Herakles trip to

Hesperides, and his meeting with Atlas. The palm – trees on the islands of the Atlantic.

Traditions in Thessaly about the Titans and in other regions about Atlantes. Very

ancient American people and place – names have words with the roots -tlan, -atl. Aztlan,

the first cradle of the Aztecs, Nakouatlakatloi, the god Kouetzalkoatl, “atlatl” a

device for hurling javelins, etc. The Mayans know Atlan and Teitani and believe that

they are “Sons of the Sun and the Pleiades”. The traditions of America about Atlantis.

The discoveries in the Bahamas, the sunken cyclopean walls.

5.STRANGE MEMORIES (9 pages)

Odysseus adventure, Thetys, Aegean, Prometheus, the Cyclops of Poseidon, the

island of Circe, their descendants, the ships of the Phaeacians demoting Atlantic

techniques. The apples of Hesperides and the bananas were transplanted from

Atlantis and not from some other star, as Daniken believes.

6.UNIVERSAL THEME (10 pages)

The Epic of Gilgamesh of Babylonians, the DZYAN book of Tibet, the Egyptian

papyri, up to the contemporary books, 50.000 in number, that have been written in all

languages of the world, mention Atlantis. The majority of writers who hav studied

Atlantis consider it real, such as Bacon, Frascator, Gomora, Bernagouar, Rounbeck,

 

Kircher, Silven Bayie, Henry Schliemann, Forest, Cour, Poisson, Haputmann, Wilkins,

1. de Lonai, J. V. Luce, Benoit, Louis German, Th. Moraille, Sapher, James Willard,

Durand, Jules Verne, Roger Devin, and many more extracts of which are included by

the writer they try to prove, and the majority succeed using scientific data, the

existence of Atlantis that sank. Also Greek writers, such as Kampanakis, Negris,

Doanides, Galanopoulos, Marinatos, Giannis Kordatos, Ekonomos, etc.

7 AND THE INTELLIGENCE OF EELS (5 pages)

Traces of submersion of dry land in the Atlantic. The Sargasso Sea. The

seaweed and eels that go there from Europe and America. The views of Pierre

Zermie and De Morgan.

8. DEMYTHIFICATION AND VIEWS

Atlantes were the bearers of the prehistoric civilization on Earth. The priests of

Sais discovered its existence and the data of the “myths” that the pickaxe has

confirmed as historical. Legends that are illuminated by contemporary facts and

convince one of the existence of the active Atlantes.

The Atlantes as sun-worshippers. After the bloom they are presented in the east

and west as “sons of the Sun” and they teach the people sciences, arts, justice.

There are legends among the people, that they come on flying birds or in chariots. In

America they come from the east, in the Mediterranean they arrive from the west.

They find cities on the coasts and leave strange traditions.

12.COPPER – BRONZE – ASSOCIATIONS (14 pages)

We meet

The famous copper race originated from Atlantis. Copper artifacts in America and

Mediterranean of the same technique. Bronze, metallurgy. Idaean Fingers and cave of

Crete – legends and traditions about the bronze, age and toponomy. The foundries of

Babylon, the electrolytes and dry batteries, the bronze eagles, the reflectors of Peru and

the other metallic objects of the extra – terrestrial beings of Daniken are Atlantic in origin.

13.TRIDEND – PYRAMIDS – DOMES (14 pages)

Consider:

The trident, the symbol of the original ancestor of Atlantes, Poseidon. The fishing

 

tool, battle and direction, but also an emblem of thalassocracy. The anchor, reversal

of the trident, emblem of shipping and safety. Objects similar in technique, such as

axes, crosses, the swastika, tridents and anchors etc., have been found in excellent

condition. Or their representations on ancient coins, frescoes, pottery, in countries in

the temperate zone having the Herculean Gates (Gibraltar) as their centre, from

Amerika, to the River Ganges of India. The trident of the Andres of the extra-

terrestrial beings of Daniken belongs to Atlantes. The pyramids of Egypt – Mexico –

Peru of this technique, creations of Atlantes by mechanical means, indications and

proofs. Similarly, the Domes and the Dolmen tombs, menhirs and cromlechs.

14.COLONIZATION (12 pages)

The geographical diagram of Sun – worshipping starts from the islands of the

Atlantic one branch reaches Central America while the other reaches North Africa,

the Middle East and the shores of Greece, Italy-berian Peninsula. The same course is

followed by the worship of Poseidon and his sovereignty and later the traditions about

the Atlantes and the appearance of the people of the sea. The islands of the Western

Mediterranean, Corfu, Crete, Santorini and Delos were colonies of Atlantes.

Zolatl the God of the Winds or the Underground Word of Aztecs. Or

representation of a liquid gas apparatus of Atlantes?”

 

Strange inscriptions with ideograms, the Linear A script of the Cretans of the pre-

Minoan age, the famous Disc of Phaistos, still unexplored sources, the hieroglyphics of

the Egyptians that talk about the “King of the Ocean”, Poseidon, have been found in

the same circuit.

15.ENIGMATIC CURIOSITIES (14 pages)

The Sphinx has not revealed all her secrets: if we interpret the Orphic conception,

the divinity Oannis and the cosmogonical avgo (egg), are the ovum and spermatozoon

that the Atlantes had clearly discerned and were not transferred by the extra

-terrestrial beings of Daniken by syringes.

Easter Island was a place of exile for the opponents of Atlantis where they

carved rocks to occupy themselves. Relevant to this is the poem of the History of

Civilization of Durand, which Daniken does not mention, because it demolishes his

contention about extra – terrestrial beings.

Atlantes, also, produced airships: They were flown on liquid gases that were

contained in the “Skin-bags of Aeolus” which resembled the “God of the Winds”

(idolatrous statue of the Aztecs). The tradition in Greece – Italy, the god in America.

The picture speaks on its own. The snakes and dragons of Daniken are mythical

figures that come from the Gorgon of Medusa, with the loose hair like snakes. A

dragon or lizard that flies.

16.ASTRONOMY – AIRSHIPS (10 pages)

According to the writings of Homer and Hesiod, Atlas was the best astronomer of

pre – historic times. Orion, the Pleiades and Hermes were heroes of the first flying

devices. Pleiades test airships and are lost or Killed during flights. Tradition relates that

they became stars. The Golden Fleece, a combination of the craft of Phrixus and

Helle. The secret of the Argonaut expedition (descendants of the Atlantes after the

submergence of Atlantis), the discovery of Phrixus airship. The Stymphalian birds with

the “bronze wings” were airships.

17.AND THEY FLEW ALL OVER THE WORLD (14 pages)

Data borrowed from Daniken are returned in an Atlantian Fashion. The

cosmodrome of extra – terrestrial beings of Daniken in Peru – with the Trident – is the

airport of Atlantes. The “fiery ships” of the Mayans who are “children of the Pleiad.es”.

The “Golden Girdle” of Oriana of Volonia – the girdle stolen by winged Hermes. The

pilot of the tomb of Palenke, an earthly form on a tombstone of a temple built with

Atlantic technique. The bronze eagle of the Epic of Gilgamesh that heads towards the

west and passes Gibraltar. Ra has his own flying ship. Jezekiel read an old destription

about the airship he describes. Moses copied old texts, concealed facts and the secret

of the Arc of the Old Testament. The Sanscrit text of the flying Vimaana and the stories

about the Flying dragons of the DZYAN book of Tibet, are borrowd descritpions of

traditions.

18.THS SUMBERGENCE (11 pages)

Descriptions of the submergence of Atlantis from ancient sources. The

cataclysm “from the other side of the great sea” Outanapisti of the Epic of

Gilgamesh, Deucalion of the Greeks and Noah of the Bible, are the same heroes

of the great cataclysm. Memories of the submergence.

 

19.DISCOVERIES ON EARTH (13 pages)

The pyramids were observatories, refuges of the pilots of “the Gods” and “fuel

storehouses”. The maps of Piri Reis and “Atlantes”, were geographical maps of

Ptolemy. The stone sphere in Costa Rica, the dry electric batteries. The stone

conduits of the extra – terrestrial beings of Daniken, were hydrocarbon conduits of

Atlantes.

The very ancient device of Antikytheran in the Museum of Athens with words

such as Pleiades, etc. The golden plates of Daniken are similar to the plates of the

palace of Poseidon of Atlantis.

20.THE ANTIPODES ATLAS – ATITLAN (5 pages)

I dare to assure you, Mr Daniken, that I found the Ariadne’s yarn, which will take

your readers away from the daedalian labyrinth of your reflections, which are

formulated in your books “Recollections from the future”, “Return to the Stars”,

“Sowing in space”.

I believe that those following my course, they will see the “Giants” who spread

their light plentiful to the universe as the Sun which has been their symbol.

These giants were terrestrials and self-taught in their mind and power. People

only would be able to approach other under developed people of other areas of this

earth, to be assimilated with them, to learn their manners and customs and

language.

You, Mr. Daniken, you want the bearers of the prehistoric civilizations having a

borrowed knowledge, foreigners and out -terrestrials. If we admit that the men of the

19th and 20th centuries, ie of our times, who developed such, an important

civilization and reached within one or two generations, such an astonishing scientific

conquests, are not self – taught but have a borrowed knowledge, then we can admit –

and again not without torment – that the bearers of the civilization you report were also

of a borrowed knowledge themselves.

No invasion, however, by regiments of wise scientists and special leaders came

in 19th and 20th centuries, from the stars.

All the elements you piled up in your books, Mr Daniken, from the magnificent

building masterpieces, to the simple pictures that have been discovered into caves

and from the description of flying apparatus, to the plain airfield, which has been

pointed out for their landing, they are all terrestrials, comprehensible, human. Certain

strange things are not inexplicable. With a little bit of effort and good will these

become accessible because they all have a certain similarity between them. They

have something that connects them, even if they have been found, a lot of them,

thousands of kilometers far from each other.

I have compared many of your elements and examples with my own ones and

they have become my arguments to lay the foundations of my conclusions.

The rich material of your books, the largest part of which I prove true, cleared out

an undefined opinion which aired during a certain number of years inside me. It’s

about the contents of Aeolus flasks. Now, I have the opportunity to liberate the gases

of the king of the Winds, which remained trapped for several thousand years. So I

believe that a fair wind will blow to navigate the ship to the right course. The faith

gives power and hope.

I hope, I am on the right track, as Heraclitus says, to reach the unexpected by

investigating.

I do not reply as a specialist scientist but as an amateur mediator to an amateur

searcher. I shall not even attempt to convince you, dear – having seen the world –

friend. I shall try to answer your questions and to divert your perplexities and

doubts. I, therefore, reply straight away:

The Atlantes Mr Daniken; The terrestrial Atlantes are the founders of the

organized human society and the pedestals of the known and, perhaps the unknown

prehistoric civilization. Its them who carried the weight of the universe on their

shoulders.

The picture presenting the Giant Atlas holding up the terraqueous globe, is not

based on legends. It is descriptive and meaningful, it shows the ancient human

grandeur.

It is not the first time that I undertake this subject. In my book “Pioneers in Space”

printed in December 1966 and circulated at the beginning of 1967, I formulated my

arguments that the inhabitants of the lost Atlantis were so much developed that they

were succeeded to build even flying machines.

The first story of my book “the Road of Pease” (edition 1964) is dedicated to

Atlantis as well. Previously, in 1959, I had also underlined, (in order to study later) in

“Solon’s Life”, his talk with the Egyptian priests about the lost Atlantis.

To me, the tale took a specific form and became a true story during the collection of

the related material.

I put to myself a question Mr. Daniken; how come you have not been conducted

towards Atlantis direction, Knowing so much about it as you say in your books, to give

an answer to your questions;

As you are extremely clever, I am sure that if the present book of mine has a wide

echo, you will go through it and allied with me.

– ALL THE TRUTH ABOUT ATLANTIS –

In spite of the fact, that the subject is enormous, multilateral and multidimentional, I

shall try to give you an imag as briefly as possible.

THE LEGENT AND THE MYTH THE HISTORY AND THE REALITY

*Once upon a time there was an island that has today covered by an

impenetrable veil of mystery.

*This island was occasionally placed in the Soviet or Atlantic Caucasus, or in the

Scandinavian peninsula, or in Tunisia, or Libya, or Eggypt, or, finally, in the Sahara

desert.

*During the last thirty years various writters place it in Crete, or between Crete and

Santorini.

*However, from the very ancient times it was placed outside Hercules Columns,

todays Gibraltar, in the Atlantic Ocean.

.- Therefore, Atlantis has taken the form and dimensions of a legend, but at the same

time has been treated as a myth. It has, actually, considered by some people as

something that never existed.

-It has, therefore, created such a confusion that, one has to distinguish between the

legend and the reality first, in order to state where it was, what it was and what happened

to it, where can possibly be found etc. He has to distinguish between the history and

the myth and prove that Atlantis existed.

This separation is easy to be d6ne as the elements and pre-suppositions

exist, part of which I state:

-Socrates sometimes used to say to his pupils: “The maintenance of the

myths is always intentional. It aids those they do not like the truth to be revealed.

-The inhabitants of Atlantis themselves – as it is ascertained by a multitude of

material that I site in my book “The Atlantes and not the Gods” in an effort to

prevail and to impose themselves upon the people of their times, with the minimum

of economical and human sacrifices, they applied the following plan:

1)They surprised and parallelized the under developed people – with the equal to

– and perhaps superior of the today’s – military technology, that covered the terrestrial,

the maritime the sub-water and the air space!

2)They made the best of this high technology, in combination with the

ignorance, the superstition and the religious fanaticism of these people.

3)The Atlantes themselves, they intentionally made a myth of every

construction, for their easier imposition and occupation of other countries and they

deified themselves exploiting their gigantic dimensions of their bodies, together with

their knowledge.

4)The Atlantes, again, they kept the secrets of knowledge and technology in

order to avoid certain unpleasant surprises in the future.

-A simple confirmation of the above is given by Herodotus (see history book B ‘)

who reports that “Thebes priests of Egypt showed me 341 colossal status of

“bishops” that every one of) them represented a generation of the past and cover a

space time of 11,340 all together. Before these generations “The Gods were living

between the people” The priests of Sais – back to Egypt – they said to Solon when

 

he visited the town and talked with them about Atlantis: “The survivors of the

distraction (such that of Atlantis) are a few ignorant and indifferent”. The

remembrance of the events was not registered but ruined. In Egypt though there

were not any great destructions and deluges and.the events have been registered

by the priests and conserved in the temples!

*As the role of the clergy and the systems applied by them to subdue the liberal

mind and the human power were known over the centuries and even until today, it is

not difficult at all for someone to imagine the ways that have been used to employ the

scientific material and the related elements found in its possession by some short of

way after the destruction of Atlantis.

*Moses himself gives us a small example of how the clergy used this atlantic

material. According is his Bible (Exodus LC’20). He says the following: “.. And said

(the God) You shall not be able to see my face, none must see my face and survive…”

*Plutarch reports in many of his chapters that “most of the myths contain real

events”.

*That puts inside the myth and the legend and presents in his entire grandiose

the historical element and the reality thatthey certify the existence of Atlantis.

HAS IT BEEN ATLANTIS? YES OR NO?

*There is only one answer to this question: YES. This is confirmed by a great

number of elements, offered by thousands of relative writings, written in their

majority by the best intellectuals, master-minds, and master – speaker –

innumerable archeological monuments and findings. These are:

*Gilgamesh of Babylonian epic poetry, the book DZYAN of Thibet, the Egyptian

papyrus, the ancient Greek historians, wise men, men of letters (educated men),

poets etc. such as Herodotus, Solon, Pindar, Aeschylus, Apollodorus, Stravon,

Stephen Byzantius, Proclus, Plutarch, Diodorus of Sicily, Crantoras, they all support

its existence with positiveness. Some of them offer relative sections for it, some

others refer to more ancient sources and findings, yet to myths, making clear that

they contain real cases. Therefore, the legend and the myth are put aside by a great

number of sources and elements, historical facts and the reality takes their place.

*Julius Vern, Vakon, Frascator, Duran, Gomora, Varnago-nar, Rounbeque, Kirkher,

Sylven, Bailly, Henry Sleaman, Forest, Kour, pouasson, Hauptmann, Donelly, Wilkings,

1. de Launnet,Louis German, Th. Moray, Saffer, James Willard, Roiy6 Devine,J. V.

Luce, the later Greeks Kambanakis, Neghris, Deanides,Galanopoulos, Marinates,

Kordatos, Economos etc. and very recently Jacques Yv. Cousteau and Andrei

Aksenoff, they accept the existence of Atlantis, as they accept it, also, the most of the

50.000 other specialist, searchers, educated people, archeologist, and others

who have been engaged with this subject.

*It is natural to believe that it is not possible, so many people with such a

complicated knowledge and world – wide acceptance to make the same mistake. The

one who does not leave any margin to objection and who every day is confirmed, is

Plutarch.

*In his books “Timeos” and “Critias” describes Atlantis so clearly, that under the

light of the modern discoveries, one puts the question to himself: “How is it possible

for Plato to know all these details, if Atlantis did not constitute, once upon a time, a

reality, but it was a product of imagination or a curious myth making?

*In “Timeo”, for example, says Plato: “In front of the entrance named

Hercules Columns there was a huge Island. The area of the land occupied by this

island was Atlantis”.

 

*Further, he describes the following details: The extension of the island, the sea

around it, the climate, the flora, the…underground – the minerals and the metal

elaboration, she Architecture, the irrigating works, the advanced techniques of

cultivation, the organization of the state, the population, the ports, the navigation,

the military organization, the invasions they have executed in Europe, Asia and Africa,

the occupation and colonization, the war against the Greeks (they have been

defeated by them) the liberation of the people occupied by the Greeks, the

acquaintance between Atlantes and Greeks, (that made Hercules to visit Atlantis),

the sinking of Atlantis etc.

*Special attention must be given to the following:

1)”They have constructed impressive buildings, majestic palaces and other

mansions… temples, altars, large bridges, arcades, harbors, canals, monuments,

tombs, pyramids”.

2)Atlantis lost by sinking in the sea. Now, this sea is impassable and unexplored,

because the mud of the low rocks created by the sinking of the island is an

obstacle”.

*How did Plato know, during that epoch, that tombs, domes, pyramids and even

series of reefs were existed, as they begun to be discovered since 19th century only?

*In his book “Critias” he begins his dialogue with Socrates about Atlantis with the

following words “Listen Socrates, a very strange speech but very true also”. As

Solon, the wisest between the seven savants, has sometimes narrated.

*Socrates answers with the following words:

“… and that this speech is not a fictitious myth, but a true account, it is the

greatest thing”.

Further on, Plato insists for the truth of his narration saying that: “We always

remain satisfied when someone talks about the celestials and the divine in abstract. We

examine the mortal and the human things with a lot of care.

*And it must be underlined that: Plato presents, Critia, who narrates the history

about Atlantis, who does not believe to the gods anymore, neither to the existence of

the spiritual soul, nor to the religion which he considers an invention of legislators for

the nations to be governed easily. Consequently Critias was a realist and clever and

not an illusionist narrator or someone who could cheat.

*At the same time, Homer talks about the battles between the giants, and

especially about Atlas, the first astronomer on earth. He also discusses the

genealogy (breed) of the pro-Atlantes time, their posterity etc…

THE DIFFERENT FINDINGS

-There are a lot of findings that make the idea about theexistence of Atlantis

authentic. We are, in fact, going to mention

The most considerable ones. Therefore we are going to make their relation with

the lost city more comprehensive by referring to other relative sections. To this attempt,

I believe, it will help very much a short and epigrammatic relation to who Atlantes

were, what they believed, what civilization had developed, what their technology,

discoveries and occupations were.

WHO WERE ATLANTES AND WHAT THEY BELIEVED

Atlantes were descendants of Titan Atlas, Prometheus brother, son of

Neptune, as Plato says.

 

*The mythology presents Atlantes as vigorous, strong, well constituted and tall. It

describes them as Titans, Giants, not knowing what the words fear and terror

meant.

*The history is also referred to different gigantic fighters who appeared separately

or in groups in different combats, especially during the prehistoric epoch, as Goliath,

Enkidon, Gilgamesh, Ippomedon, joint – commander in the complain against Thebes,

etc. The Head of Atlantes, himself, – Neptune – held in his hands an enormous bronze

trident and, it is believed, that he used it to direct and steer the watery element.

*The trident was one of the emblems of the posterior Atlantes. It became

the emblem of the bronze epoch, and a direction recognizing signal. The anchor

has been an inverted variation of the trident. Trident variations were many, taking into

account the meaning of the distinctive recognition signal…

*The primitive Atlantes, as well as the other people of the world, dazzled by the

sun brightness, being very enthusiastic by its beneficial influence, accepted it as their

God and becomes un worshipers; Their descendants who developed a serious

and successful civilization and developed the astronomy, they did not, of course, look at

the sun with the same meaning. Because they did not like to throw away the ancestral

believes and did not only mind but were favourized with them, they chose the sun as

their symbol, their signal and emblem and as an instrument of domination and

cosmocracy. And in order to show their superiority and to subdue the nations easier

– apart of the other methods employed, as I have already cited – they characterized

themselves as…”Sons of the Sun”.

Different archeologists and searchers have found the sun and the trident as their

emblem in a great number of objects made…within the same axle of the temperate

zone, from America to India (reached by Atlantes) but with Hercules’s Columns as

a centre (today’s Gibraltar).

*The inhabitants of Atlantis were living peacefully on their island, in 10 districts –

kingdoms, controlled by the same number of kings, under the high command of the

king of kings, who was the central king – leader of Atlantis. They were living in peace,

tied up by an oath that: “Never use the arms, one against the other”…

*They were superior in character, obedient to the laws, to the leaders, the priests

the soothsayers, who looked after their health and their easy living. They had no

passions and hate between them, they believed to God, they were pious, honest,

with generous sentiments, that the richness and the comfortable living did not change

them, until a certain epoch.

*This description about Atlantes is done by Plato. From his reference and other

sources about their civilization and technology they developed, we learn the

following.

WHAT THEIR CIVILIZATION AND TECHNOLOGY WERE

Artificial Lakes – Barrages. – Irrigation works, control of cultivation.

The island of Atlantis was beautiful and admirable, rich and so much productive,

that disposed the goods of life in a great abundance and variety.

-Atlantes themselves contributed, of course, in the productivity and the

abundance. They were laborious and progressive and because of the mild climate

and the ideal environment

They were intelligent, keen sighted, strong and equipped with superior virtues.

*They had constructed, for example, a lake of 1,850 km

2

in the most productive

plain where they collected the surplus water and by a special network used it during the

 

summer months. By doing so, they regulated the cultivation and they harvested twice a

year.

*They had also constructed water dams on the mountains. These were connected

with the plain by another canal network. They used to concentrate the timber they

had previously cut in these lakes and after opening the barrages of the dams and left

the water flow down the plain, they were successfully transporting the timber and, also,

irrigating the plain. Consequently, under such climatic conditions and technical

applications, a rich vegetation and cattle raising added to the already rich greenfinch

and flora of the island.

*In the sacred forest of Neptune there were curing springs with cold and hot

waters, open air reservoirs, covered ones, gardens with flowers and plants,

gymnasiums and a hippodrome!…

More elements of their civilization, we shall see below, in the colonization.

SCIENCES, LEGISLATION and EVPHORIA

Atlantes had developed sciences in a high degree. In Astronomy and Geometry

they had such a great knowledge that the Oxford University professor Alexander Tom

accepts that. “The man in the Neolithic epoch had such a knowledge in Astronomy

and Geometry, that today we find it difficult to believe it: Their legislation contained

elements of a deep study, experience and especially character. Atlantes were so

much advanced in the study and analysis of the human body, that they knew the ovum

and the sperm and therefore one can now explain the passages of the epic poetry

of Gilgamesh and the Bible for the Eugonia (posterity).

MULTILATERAL USE OF METALS AND OF IVORY

The islands underground was also rich and the scattered information of ancient

sources about the Copper and the bronze, converge towards Atlantis. Plato, the priests of

Egypt and many other writers, accept that Atlantis tiad been rich in mineral ores. Elladicus

who studied even more ancient sources than those of Plato, underlines that “The famous

bronze race resulted from Atlantis”. And the modern researcher Roge Devin has proved

that: “Those who brought the bronze to the other people were Atlantes, the race of

bronze”

*Atlantes – according to Plato – had constructed mines andfoundries and they

organized handicrafts for the elaboration of the metals.

*All the necessary to Atlantes tools, as well as other useful! things were made of

the best metals.

*The kings and the leaders emblems, the sacred utensils, the jewels and the

craters for the sacrifices, were made of gold.

*Many of their statues were a work of art with gold and ivory, as there was a

large number of elephants in Atlantis, as well as silver and bronze together.

*Their temples were constructed with large colorful stones and the most efficient

ones were covered with… golden, or silver or bronzed sheets.

*They had coated the Acropolis wall with plates in bronze, in such a manner that it

looked as shinning in flames when the sunbeams reflected on it.

*In Acropolis, also, there was the fabulous in beauty temple of Neptune,

constructed of gold and ivory.

EDIFICES – PYRAMIDS – HARBOURS – SHIPYARDS NAVAL STATIONS

Atlantes constructed imposing edifices, majestic palaces, magnificent mansions,

 

temples, altars, large bridges, arcades, harbors, shipyards, naval stations, canals,

artificial lakes, a large number of statues, monuments, tombs and… pyramids.

*The palaces and acropolis were surrounded by watery ditches that were

connected to passage which they led to the centre.

*The passages were shut by gates framed by towers –guardhouses which were

inter-connected by foot-bridges constructed over the gates. A trireme could pass

through! These watery passages, between the towers – guardhouses and under the

bridges.

-The water trenches of acropolis were connected to the sea by one canal the depth

of which was 25 m. The distance between acropolis and the sea was 9.250 m. and at

the end of the canal there were an opening which allowed the ships to pass through the

water trenches.

-In order to construct the walls of the central palace, Atlantes, cut enormous

rocks and therefore opened caves. At the end they found themselves with two deep

“warehouses” which they used to hide their ships.

ENGINEERING KNOWLEDGE

Atlantes had invented a special technique in building construction. This can be seen

by the volume of the buildings, the dimensions and the weight of the large stones that

they used and also by the almost perfect elaboration of these stones and the walls

construction.

*This technique has been transported by Atlantes to the countries they had

conquered, or delivered to the Greeks after their defeat by them, together with

elements of engineering.

*So, in the allegorical presentation that is made, in order to describe and reproduce

the construction of Thebes walls in Greece, it is said that: “Amphionas playing his lyre had

made the large stones, that his brother Zithos was carrying, to dance in the air and fit the

walls.

*It is not difficult, for someone, to reject this completely unfeasible description

and in the place of Arnphionas to see a machine operator, and instead of the lyre another

machine with chains and robes instead of cords, creaking, as the winches do today.

ANVILS – HAMMERS – PLIERS – ADZES – DRILLS PICKAXES

The view that Atlantes had engineering knowledge is confirmed by Homer, in

Odyssey (C 432):

“And of goldsmith’s anvil, hammer, well made pincher”… and in Iliad (C 131):

“Blacksmiths with furnaces and blowers are making the weapons of the bronzed

Achaios”… And again in Odyssey (1379-393)

“As the copper craftsman deeps into the cold water a hammer or a great pickaxe

and this one makes this familiar noise,… I revolved it in a similar way… as the carpenter

drills a ships beam using a machine tied up with a belt and moved by other men

underneath and this one revolves non stop”. Homer, here, delivers elements of mechanical

inventions which we also meet today, applied with the same name.

THE USE OF ELECTRICITY STEAM, GASES AND HYDROCARBONS

It has already been proved by the study of numerous findings that the electricity

was not unknown in ancient world. In the museum of Baghdad, eg, we can see today.,

dry electrical cells of that epoch, electrical systems with copper electrodes and a special

electrolyte. Peculiar candlesticks have been found in the ancient tombs of Egypt. They say

 

that they were burning for centuries. Plutarch refers to the inextinguishable small lamp

burning in the temple of Algeria. Augustin had discovered a flame which was burning in

honor of Isis and could not be extinguished by the wind or the.. water..

– S. R. Felligina, a writer who has been specialized to this subject, ended to the

conclusion that: “It concerns batteries that they produce electricity. Altantes passed an

electric current though a filament closed in a glass bulb or an analogous transparent

bulb and this produced a low but impressionable light. – Subterranean ducts, probably

used to pass steam, hydrocarbons or some other gas which was plenty around that

area were discovered in the plateau of Tiakhouanako.

STEAM – GASES – LIQUID GASES – HYDROCARBONS

It is confirmed in my book, that Atlantes had invented and employed the steam,

gasses, liquid gasses and the hydrocarbons, in different applications.

The picture of the God of the winds is characteristic (Statue for worship of the

Aztlan tribe of ancient Aztecs. Looks like a contemporary gas-bottle with taps, cap,

handles etc and reminds us the skins of Eolos (“Atlantes and not the Gods”).

ROBOTS GOING THREE TIMES ROUND CRETE

For the Cretan Hero, Talos, has been said that he had the ability to make the tour

of the island three times a day, to detach enormous rocks from the mountains and to

throw them to the sea destroying the enemy ships. To destroy the enemy with fire that

came out of his bowels, to destroy others with his…flaming arms. At the same

time he was ceasing, became motionless and inactive by some form of energy, hidden

into his knees. He could not, certainly be anything else but a robot. This idea has benn

accepted by the searchers of the 20th century characterizing it as the first robot in

the worlds history.

It is worth mentioning that the very ancient people of Talayotes, living on the

Valearides islands belonging, to Spain and been close to Gibraltar, arrived there

from… the west and later moved to Crete. (Today we have Talea mountains, called

(die).

A similar robot was also the Taurus of Neptune. It thrashed destroyed Crete

Sparta and Marathon causing destruction and panic with the flames they were

coming out of its nostrils…

SHIPS WITHOUT CREW AND RUDDERS

Homer makes an important description of ships that the contemporary ship –

builders and naval architects have not yet succeeded to build.

“The Pheacians ships have no captains governors and not rudders as the other

ships have, but they are controlled by the opinion. They know the peoples minds, the

countries and the thick fields of the universe; and they pass very fast the big mouth of

the sea hidden in the fog and the clouds without losing their way and without worring

to be sunk. I have heard my father saying that.

The Pheasian king of Corfu confessed the above to Ulysses during his visit there.

Nafsithoos, son of Neptune told also all about it to Alkinoo. Nafsithoos who had

been obliged by Cyclopes to emigrate to Skheria from Iberia and reached Corfu.

ENORMOUS VESSELS AND SUBMARINES WITH TOPREDOES

Lucian in his work “Speech of the true history 1,42″ presents the mythical

Aeolocentaure, as a leader of a human group who lived in an enormous sea –

monster”… of one thousand and five hundred stades in size” (1 stade = 100

fathom, 1 fathom = 1,83 cm.).

The size of this vessel should be 2745 m.

*There are, also, many descriptions about submarines and here are some of

them.

*On one hand – written cylinder that has been found in the Dead Sea there is a

description that says:

“The sons of light (of the sun = Atlantes) had a vessel it could be submerged

and shoot steel Javelins”.

A peculiar being appeared to Chaldeans several thousand years ago. It was half

fish and half man. He came out of the sea

as a stranger and gave to Chaldeans the principles of civilization. They called

him Oannis, meaning stranger in the Assyrian language!

Oannis dived into an egg, under the sea during the night and came out again during

the day. He became famous and obtained such a power that letter became a

Babylonian divinity and was adored as the first civilizator of Assyria and Babylon.

– The settler Janus who landed in Italy, the story with biblical lonah who stayed into the

belly of a sea – monster for some days are well known.

Hercules, whom Plutarch accepts as a historic and not a mythical person, traveled

to Atlantis in a bronze vat (probably a submerged vehicle).

SUPERDEVELOPED AVIATION

Atlantes knew how to make and use flying machines. This can be proved by a large

number of related elements. Here are some of them.

*Texts were discovered, in the pyramids of the ancient kingdom of Egypt, which

describe Pharaohs journeys in the sky with the aid of God and His ships.

*The tradition in the Easter Island (Rapa Nui) says: “Long time ago, flying giants

arrived in our island from the sun and the stars. This is why our island has been re-named…

country of the birdmen. These giants constructed the stone – statues and the enormous

temple of the sun, by using their superhuman power”.

*The description is referred to a legend for the Easter Island on which stone hatched

 

statues with a hat or helmet, of 8,000A.C. were found. There were, also, found hand

hatches and more heavy tools that only giants could use easily. All those above give

the image of Atlantes.

“Someone called Maharsi Bharadwaja, one Hindu soothsayer of the ancient times,

described with a great precision a flying machine that the “priests of science” called

Viand. It moved like a bird, by an internal force, on the earth, the waters and in the air. It

travelled long distances from country to country”.

-“Vimaana was consisted of 31 main components, pieces, and 16 kinds of metals.

They did not break, could not be separated, or burned or destroyed. They could make

themselves invisible. They could detect noises and conversations from other airships”, etc.

The description as well as the text is very old sanscritic and of an unknown date. The

“International Academy of the Sanscritic Research” of Myzore, India has… confirmed it.

There are hundreds of other descriptions and pictures of air ships and pilots found in

different places, like bronze eagles, flying dragons, birds with copper wings, airfields

etc.

-A curiously noted space is extended in Peru, 160 km from Pisco. Large runways,

radiated corridors, can be seen from every long distance, because they are shining. If

you see the whole space from above it looks like a modern airport with geometrical lines

and controllers. Further up in the gulf of Pisco an emblem like a trident is designed with

large efflorescent stones, on a mountain side showing towards the over said^ airport. At

state Bang of Bogota, Colombia there is the golden “aircraft model of Inkas”, it has an

aerodynamic shape, a pilot’s protective cabin, two rudders, triangular wings… and a fin on

the tail, just like Concord. At Olmeken park of Vilahermoza, Mexico there is a monolithic

monument showing – an aviator’s face wearing a helmet. Just in front of his lips there is

an apparatus , which looks like a microphone!…

-Looking back to the numerous descriptions and findings which have been

discovered in different territories and countries of the globe, one comes to the conclusion

that Atlantes had flown by aircrafts and travelled by ships to the known by that timeworld.

They also organized colonies or left their traces civilizing the ignorants. Findings and traces

have been found in the south and Central America, in the pacific and Atlantic Oceans, in

most of the Mediterranean Countries of Europe and Africa, in Middle East and Asia. The

identity of the techniques involved confirm something only: The passing of Atlantes from all

these countries and territories.

THEIR RELATION WITH THE GREEKS

Hesiod reports that: “The sea people came from the West”. Devin accepts that. “The

sea people of Hesiod came from the West and they were Atlantes passing through

Gibraltar and settled in the Mediterranean islands.

*Hercules (Plutarch accepts him as an existed person) went to Atlantis. He allied

with Atlantes, who left the control of the Mediterranean from Hercules columns to the

East, to him and to the Greeks and kept the control of the Atlantic ocean themselves.

Greeks, of course, protected Atlantes rights too.

*The alliance and the important role of the Greeks are shown by:

1)The fact that Atlas deposited – for a certain time – the “Heavens Load” on

Hercules Shoulders, which means that he released himself of a great weight

(responsibility).

2)The fact that Hercules delivered back to Atlas his seven daughters, the famous

Atlantides or Pleiades, abducted by the king of Egypt Vousiris.

-One daughter of Atlas, Electra obtained Danao with Zeus the head of the Greek

race.

 

-Pyrra, descendant of Atlantes obtained Hellenas with Deucalion who had an

Atlantic origin.

-The relationships from one hand and the alliance from the other, permitted the

transfer in Greece of previous knowledge or astronomy, astrology, metal workmanship

and even cultivation since Hercules brought back with him “The Golden apples of

Hesperides”, that is: Lemons, Oranges etc. and probably bananas.

Homer referring himself to the Elysian fields in the ocean, says:

“At the nutritive earth the limits (borders) I will go to see the… mother”…

*Plato, in “Timaeus” describes Atlantis and other characterizing it as a vigorous

force, he says: “This most vigorous force rushed out the Atlantic Ocean and invaded

Europe and Asia at the same time”.

*And he continues:

“The other people had been occupied. But the Athenians, who had the command of

all the Greeks and were united and surpassed in psychical vigor and in the war

techniques, vanquished the invaders. They also chased them and settled free other

people”…

*Many of the ancient representations, especially status, testify and confirm the

influence that the tradition of Atlantis and its heroes had, mainly on Greeks.

*A very ancient jug of Attica, representing Atlas.

*The lowest bone of the spine is called Atlas. Because it carries the weight of the

human body.

* Several geographical maps have been named Atlantes.

* There were statues of Atlas in the most important ancient towns.

* Atlas who supports heavens is represented in the metope of Temple of Zeus at

Ancient Olympia. The sculptured image is preserved in the museum of Olympia.

* In the ancient theatre of Backus there were representations of Atlas. The

famous disc at Phaistos of Crete, with the 242symbols, which give 45 different

illustrated characters and it is considered to be the first mould with separate types –

used in typography, is of indefinite age and remains a unique and mysterious

document, sample of another pre-Minoan rather and Atlantic origin.

GREEK ISLANDS AND COLONIAN TERRITORIES OF ATLANTES

Without having in mind the copper constructions and the objects existed by that

time and discovered later in different countries, Plato, connects the copper epoch

with Atlantis. We meet many copper findings and relative toponyms in Greece. Homer

called Cyprus “bronzed”.

The Roman expression “Aes Cyprium” means “metallic Cyprus”.

Accordingly, the copper made jug-ship of Hercules, the colossus of Rhode, the

Idean Fingers, searchers, technicians of metallurgy, the Pheasians Palace in Corfu

where copper was dominating were known.

We also see in Greece:

1)The ruins of the very ancient town of Chalcis at the Corinthian Gulf.

2)The homonymous town of Chalcis at the estuary of river Alfios described by

Strabo.

3) The homonymous town Chalcis in Euboea still existed.

 

4)The district of Chalcidiki.

5)The island Chalci in Aegean Sea.

6)Chalcidona in Salonica and Bosporus, etc. When native Athenians revolted

against the Neptunius Atlantes, the Calcideans of Euboea invaded Athens in order to

help their relatives Atlantes.

*Delos was one of the colonies of Atlantes. According to the history of the island,

the first inhabitants of Delos were pre-greek of unknown nationality. Neptune – father

of Atlas – sent Lito to Delos to give birth to Apollo, god of the Sun and the Light.

*The Pheasians, people of Corfu, their kings Nafsithoos and Alkinoos and queen

Ariti, were descendants of Atlantides, (Atlas daughters) as goddess Minerva reveals

to Ulysses.

*The temple of Neptune in Corfu was of the same technical construction to that of

Atlantis as Plato describes. Crete was one of the first islands that Atlas colonized.

The name Crete belonged to an Atlas niece who married someone from the

above island. Here, we met the Idean Fingers, the robot Talo, the other robot Taurus

of Poseidon, all related to Atlantis and a lot of traditions about it.

*Icarus and Deadalus arrived in Crete, but we do not know where from.

Deadalus, as it is known, was a flying machine maker. He had even succeeded to

build an apparatus which used to fly away from Crete with Ikarus.

ATLANTIS FROM OTHER SOURCES

Some additional elements that confirm the existence of Atlantis and its

Cosmographic role are the following:

The legends about Neptune’s descendants and Atlantes. The transition of

Greeks and Phoenicians at the Atlantic islands. The reserch from the very old times of

Pharaohs. Transitions about Titans at the Greek Thessaly, Boeotia and Peloponnese.

Atlantes in other territories. The very ancient american people and the toponymes

have roots like… tlan – atl – Aztlan is the original crib of Aztec, Nakbonalautes was

the name of a race and kouetzalkoatl and Tlalok their Gods. Atlatl was the javelins

shooting machine etc. Mayas know Atlan and Teitan: and believe that they are the

sons of the Sun and Pleiades. The findings in Bahamas, the cyclopean walls found in

Troy and in the small island Dia of Crete, in Sicily, Syria, Cyprus, Mycenae, in Thebes and

other places. The mountains Atlas of Morocco and Atitlan of… Guatemala. The pyramids

of Egypt, the ones in Bahamas, Mexico, Bolivia etc, are of the same technical

construction and used as observatories and pilot shelters as well as fuel stores, too. The Piri

Reis maps and Atlantes (Ptolemy geographical maps) the spherical stones of Costa Rica

the Anticythera apparatus, etc, etc.

ATLANTIS EXISTED, WHERE?

– Homer, Hesiod, Herodotus, Aeschylus, Plutarch, Philon, Proklos, Aristarchus,

Kratis, Apollodorous and much more later accepted the Existence of the continent of

Atlantis and they placed it across the Hercules Columns (todays Gibraltar) in the Atlantic

Ocean. Diodoros of Sicely accepts – without any doubt -that it actually existed, in his work:

“Historical Librady” (Book II, XLV 1125) he writes:

…Ekatoes and many others say that further up the Celtic sites, towards the ocean,

there is an island not smaller than Sicely. The excellent academic Crantoras sustains with

obstinacy that Atlantis Existence is a historic fact.

– Plato says in “Timaeus”:

In front of the opening called Hercules Columns, there was a large and powerful

 

island. The area occupied by this island, could be called a continent. This island was

called Atlantis”… And he continuous: “The sea, around that continent is a real sea, an

ocean. The place around the channel (Gibraltar) looks like a port having a narrow

entrance” The legends of the people of America, can see the sons of the sun to appear

from the East, i.e the Atlantic side and to disappear again towards East. In the contrary, the

heroes related to the sons of the Sun of the Sumerians of Mesopotamia and Egypt, they

saw them coming from the West and to disappear towards it.

Inkas and Mayas of America believed that Atlantis was to the East. The Mayas

legends talk about a god Kouatzalcoatl that came from a strange country of the Rising

Sun.

*According to these facts which they place Atlantis in Atlantic Ocean there

are more important ones.

*Researcher Charles Berlitz says: “River beds which have been sunk, were

discovered at the continental shelf from the two sides of Atlantis.

*The water of Hudson River of New York, continues to flow underground more than

2,000 m. There is a very deep valley of 1100 m. between rocks. Such an underground

morphology is met only in cribs formed on the surface and sunk later.

*Examining the Atlantic coasts around Atlantis, the sinking can be confirmed. The

separation of United Kingdom from Europe, the sinking of the Norwegian coasts, the

rise of the sea level in the low Countries, they can only be attributed to the Atlantis

sinking.

*Piere Zermie, in his work “Atlantis”, gives us the following elements: “The Atlantic

bottom is volcanic. The lava pulled up by the searchers, from a depth of 3,000 m. had to

have a crystal texture. Instead, it was found to be basaltic and glassy. The geologists

were positive: “It constitutes a sinking lava element from volcanoes lost in the sea

together with the land.

– The researcher Catherine Cagemayster sustains that “Atlantis has a certain

relation with the sea plateau that lays under Azores of Atlantic Ocean. The

oceanographic search brought on surface certain elements, that show the similarity

ofthe area, that has Plato described in “Timaeus”.

IT EXISTED IN ATLANTIC OCEAN AND HAS BEEN SUNK

There is, therefore, no doubt that Atlantis was in Atlantic Ocean and its name is not

casual but relative to it. Now it is interesting to see where exactly it was as the most

different views have been expressed at this issue. The following elements help in an

attempt to define the area occupied by Atlantis.

*The reports by Devin and Morgan about Atlantis population report to about

64,000,000

*Plato work in “Timaeus” – about the dimensions and size of Atlantis; The

description shows Atlantis as large as Libya and Asia (known areas of that time).

* The undersea geological findings, the mountain ranges, the reef necks and

finally the human constructions.

*The habit of the Mediterranean eels and those of Europe on one hand, and of

America on the other, to travel thousands of miles in order to arrive at Sarcasso

(seaweeds) sea, N.W. of England, to give birth and die. A rock has been detached there

and sea weeds of… fresh water, of a sunk lake have been found and it is known that the

eels can only be reproduced in freshwater.

-I must accept that: Father Kirher (1678) put concrete arguments for Atlantis.

The architect Partoklos Campanakis improved them in 1893, confirming Plato about the

 

connection of Europe and America. Now I improve them a little bit more, relying on their

previous discoveries. As it appears in the map that I designed for this purpose, West

Atlantis had to be in front of Gibraltar and in a distance equal to that between Crete

and Malta. Its North side was touching the Sargasso sea, N.W. and south of England. Its

Eastern side, penetrated the large gulf which is formed between. North and South

America in front of Panama Canal.

Between the canal and the main island of Atlantis there were the seven islands of

Pleiades, and a lot of smaller islands.

*There were, also, islands, between Atlantis and Europe and Africa eg: Gorgonia

Tritonis etc. All these islands were connected to the mainland Atlantis by reef strips.

This is the reason they followed Atlantis when it sunk.

THE NEW ATLANTIS IN SOUTH AEGEAN

It has already been confirmed that Atlantes had created colonies in the

Mediterranean and especially in South Aegean, before the sinking of their island.

Ignatius Donnelly, in his book: “Atlantis the world before the deluge” comparing, with

scientific methods, the religious beliefs and the artistic work of the ancient Egypt and

America concluded that: “Atlantis was the metropolis of a series of colonies from

both sides of Atlantic”. Devin, after analyzing inscriptions and traditions accepted that:

1)”The Hesiod sea people reached Mediterranean from the West”.

2)The new inhabitants of the islands and the littoral countries of the Med.

sea were Atlantes”.

The tradition wants all the heroes of Atlantis, the sea people of the copper race and the

Greek islanders especially, sons of Neptune. This is a proof that they are all

descendants of Poseidonia that is of Atlantis.

*The legend about Neptune’s omnipotence, starts over Gibraltar and after having

conquered the insular Greece. He is throne on Olympus near the rest of the gods.

Zeus, though, prefers him to stay in Atlantis and not to be involved in continental

matters.

*As John Kordatos, historian, says in “The Foretold to Homer”, the theogonic

heroes: “ Hercules, Sirens, Nereids, Gorgons, Calypso and Circe, recount that they

originate from Atlantes. Yet Homer himself, and Hercules and Achilles”.

*The oldest religion, the Sun adoration, starting from the Eastern coasts of

Atlantis, covers the Atlantic islands, the north of Africa the south borders of the

Mediterranean and Aegean sea and reaches the Middle East Greece, Italy Iberia and flows

back to Atlantis.

*The following view is given by the facts the data and the logic. The carriers of

the pre-historic civilization have been Atlantes.

*Aztecs writing is similar to that of Maya as many searchers have proved. It is also

similar to the Sumerian, the Egyptian the Hittites, Pelasgian and Cretan hieroglyphics

and have been found in Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Syria, Egypt and Crete.

-Pyramids and other magnificent buildings of the same technical construction

have been found in Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Bahamas, Syria, Egypt and Crete. It has been

proved scientifically that they were made by people with advance knowledge of Geodesy,

Architecture and Astronomy. Their age was adapted between the 6th and 12th

millennium, of the old chronic-accounting, that is by the time of Atlantis prosperity.

*Cyclopean walls have been discovered in many islands, from Bahamas to Sicity,

Cyprus and Troy and in some ports, in Italy, Syria, and Asia Minor and on the small island

of Dia near Crete. These walls were constructed by Atlantes who after having been in

contact with the Cyclopes, they subjected them and made them their sub missives.

*The copper is spread all over Mediterranean like the trident and the sun as

emblems and the Atlanto-bearing toponyms as the city called Atalanti a few kilometers

away of Athens.

*In Rhodes there were important inhabiting from the first period of the bronze, as

in Troy, too.

*It is now known as I have already reported the relation between the Greeks and

Atlantes, the combats, the alliance and above all the relationship with certain Greeks and

the birth of Apollon, son of the sun and light, in Delos.

 

Prof Angelos Galanopoulos, head of Seismology department at National Technical

University of Athens, after ten years of research (1950-60) published his book “The

Ancient Atlantis”. He presented his work to the Academy of Athens. The professor places

Atlantis between the islands of Crete and Santorini and he claims that they used to be

united and the section between them sunk during the years reported by Plato.

-It is true that in the sea bed of Santorini different ancient elements of an excellent

civilization developed from very old times. They were covered by the water the matter

and the lava. This is an indication that this civilization has been disappeared after a

volcanoes eruption.

Professor Jacques Yv Cousteau searched the same area in 1975, with his submerging

vessel Calypso. He was not able to bring important elements into light. This drove him to

the conclusion to exclude the possibility of existence of Atlantis in this area.

-A few miles South thouth, nearby the island of Dia, North of Crete he made

important discoveries, such as Cyclopean walls, sunk docks of Ports etc.

1. V. Luke, in his book “The End of Atlantis”, 1969, says that Crete was used as a

base for attacks by the sea people and the copper race who were not different than the

descendants of Atlantes of ancient Crete.

*We have already met the Ideos Fingers in Crete, also, the disc of Festos,

magnificent buildings. Daidalus and Icarus, makers of flying apparatuses and pilots,

the incredible robots Talos and Taurus, the Tallian mountains the Idean cavern, facts,

leading the Atlantis.

Crete is the most important archeological centre of copper and bronze findings of

the Greek territory.

*J.V. Luke, as I have already mentioned presents positively and sustains the view

that: “The mythical Atlantis civilization was the very ancient Crete civilization and Atlantes

were people of the great Crete.

*Such a categorical position, either positive of negative impresses all of us. Prof.

Galanopoulos places Atlantis between Crete and Santorini, without considering the

Atlantis dimensions, which from a range of descriptions it is shown to be greater than

the whole Mediterranean and naturally, it was not possible to be situated there.

*J. V. Luke makes the same mistake, in a greater extend, placing Atlantis in “large”

Crete, in a space much smaller than that reported by Galanopoulos. Could the influence of

Atlantis to America be so great though?

*Finally, Jacques Yv Cousteau does not make a smaller mistake to completely

exclude the possibility of existence of Atlantis between Crete and Santorini. Cousteau

discovered important findings of Atlantical technique. He knew, of course, that in the

ancient times a very remarkable civilization developed around this area. What he found

in Santorini could not be important but surely were indicative. He under – estimated them.

After all, I am sure that Galanopoulos and Luce have made the same mistake, over-

estimating the historic elements and findings and under-estimating the space factor. As

for Cousteau one is certain. He did not get into trouble to compare the historic elements

and discoveries he made in the islands of Dia and Santorini. Accordingly, we are not

sure that the investigations he carried out were the most appropriate for the discovery

of a very ancient sunk civilization.

*The most possible is that: None of the three has searched to find

the golden section, the mean solution and view that always exists between such

totally opposite views. And there is the golden section, that by a very curious way,

it totally contradicts all three, it confirms… some of them.

*No, Atlantis never existed in the space between Crete and

 

Santorini. Simply, it was not possible to exist, as Galanopoulos and Luce thought. But

the elements and findings were so many that one cannot agree with Cousteau

conclusion and exclude very relation with that area.

Prof. Marinatos (head of the Archeology Department at Athens University)

discovered a set of artificial teeth with big human elements

*Our position and conclusion is the following: “The area between

Crete, Santorini and Delos was colonized by Atlantes and when Atlantis sunk, the new

Atlantis created and developed there.

*Simply, could not be otherwise. The special relations between

the two people, the ties, the alliance, the intellectual connections, the sagacity

characterizing them, created excellent situations of spiritual communication and

collaboration. The, almost, similar climatic conditions, the customs, the habits, the

believes and religion, met a common acceptance. Even the short distance

between Atlantis and New Atlantis did not leave margins for consolidation of the last

one in- different areas.

*Yes, the New Atlantis was in the south Aegean sea and some of

its reminants were found by Cousteau, Galanopoulos, Marinates and others.

*Over there, at the Atlantic Ocean, we must investigate for the

Metropolis the mother Atlantis, where the Soviet mission found in 1979 remainings

of gigantic staircases and walls. It seems that Plato focused the truth.

ATLANTES, NOT THE SPACE GODS

The fundamental pretention of some writers who believe that “Civilization was

brought to us by out-earth Gods, the Arians etc”, can be thrown away from a number of

elements that I have already presented until now in my book “Atlantes and not the

Gods”

-A first response to these pretentions is the following:”The man did not need

to be directed by super developed creatures coming from space, out-earths and

Arians for whom I would ask: These out – earth comers where and how they secured

their knowledge that Daniken asserts that they have transmitted to the man”.

Recently, it has been proved that Arians and out-earths do not exist, at least, in the

neighboring planets. It is proved, day by day that man is capable of all, and alone,

without the aid of out- earths, can create civilizations and traditions. What out-earths

indicate how the space – ships, the supertankers, the electronic brains, the robots, the

suspended bridges, the tunnels, the sky scrapers the stadiums etc are made. For

these after thousands of years it would probably exist the same question: who have

constructed them? How could they transport these enormous volumes etc. The

port, the airports, the drainage, systems the water supply networks, the telephone,

will be another headache if one day our civilization faces destruction.

*The toponyms that I have reported and hundreds of others that I include in

my book “Atlantes and not the Gods” as well as others that I have already collected

but not published yet, are true witnesses of the reality. Every place is responsible for its

own history, its inhabitant’s history and the history of the heroes who have glorified it.

Different people, transferred their own specific history, traditions and customs

during their moving etc., to the new places they settled. To these places they give

the same toponyms and keep their good memories and the glory of their

ancestors.

*This was done by Atlantes, that’s why almost half of the world carries names

like Atalanti, Allan, Axtlan the mountain Atlas, Atitlan, the geographic Atlas etc.

*The mysterious trident of Andes, hear Pisco, reminds us of Neptune and Atlantis,

as Peter Colozimo writes in his book “Astronauts and prehistory”. Atlantes and not out

– earths were those who have constructed or designed the Cyclopean walls, the

magnificent buildings, the ports and air fields, the domes and the pyramids that., “by

coincidence” have been found in the axle of the Central America, of Atlantis, of the littoral

countries of Mediterranean and its islands, of the Middle Eastland it has been proved

that they are referred to the epoch of the Atlantis prosperity.

*There is a column of Naram Sin of the 3rd millennium and perhaps before that at

the Louvre. It presents a gigantic body who holds metallic tools and hews a tall rock.

He wears a protective, rather metallic, helmet and a mask. Lower, in hewed projections of

the rock there are 15-16 distinguished assistants who follow him working or praying.

Two of them seem to be falling off. At the top, one can see a small and a large sun.

Daniken, analyzing this representation talks about art on the rock by creatures of 8 m

height. Scientific researchers’ proved that it is a man of 4m height and 227kg weight.

Perhaps, this people were giants, not as tall as 8m, and they were not out-earths

The out earths would never design suns, since flying in space they would know what the

sun is. They would not adore it as a god and they would not make it their emblem.

-Pyramids were found in the whole area previously mentioned. Im khotep,

who is reported as the constructor of Sakara Pyramid, was a kind of Einstein of his epoch,

a savant, an architect a priest who used only… tools made of copper. This pyramid was

named “Temple of the Eternity and it matches the description of the Neptune Palace of

the lost Atlantis. Daniken attributes these constructions to the out-earths without taking

 

under consideration that: All the Egyptians had to work day and night, non – stop, for 560

years in .order to build the 15 known pyramids of Egypt, as it has been proved that the

construction started in 2.800 and finished in 2240 AC (560 years). This was not possible,

of course, as they had to look for their food, as well as do various other things. They could

not be constructed by any out-earths as well because even if we accept that they were

giants they would need a whole army of them to do the job and a disembarkation of such a

scale is not reported anywhere. On the other hand, it is well known that Hercules went to

Egypt as a relative and allied of Atlantes, to set the daughters of Atlas free, who were kind

napped by Vousiris the King of Egypt. He did not, of course, go alone against the

Egyptians. He marched against them with a whole army of Atlantes who subjugated Egypt

and remained there, instructing and supervising the constructions.

-I am absolutely confident now, and I prove it in my book, that many elements and

findings have been misinterpreted and distorted.

– To close the subject I shall relate to you an entertaining story, that if, however, you

analyze, it is going to give you a very useful interpretation and answer in what concerns

Atlantis, Atlantes, the prehistoric civilizations, the several memories be quethed to us as

myths, legends. For the large public, still *or many educated people, Minotaurus of

Crete remained in their minds as a monster, half a bull and half a man with big horns.

According to the tradition, this monster was a man-eater and it was eating the young

Athenians, sent as a tribute to Minos, the king of Crete. None has ever thought that the bull

is a vegetarian animal and consequently cannot be carnivorous at the same time. Also,

there is no scientific source to claim that there were vegetarian and carnivorous monsters

in the past. Is it therefore a myth? No, Not exactly. Plutarch, in Theseus life, makes things

clear. A general of Minos, the strongest and wildest of all was named Taurus (bull). In the

duel combats, that they were organizing from time to time in Crete, no native could fight

him. They obliged, therefore, the Athenians young men to do so, after giving them the

necessary training in order to entertain the king. Theseus had a fight with Taurus in front

of Minos. Previously, Ariadne, his daughter, who felt in love with Theseus, revealed to him

the technique that Taurus employed. Theseus tied up his opponents horse legs using a

robe giving to him by Ariadne, as the peasants do even today to keep the horses with

them.

Theseus after having secured the maneuvers of his own horse killed Taurus

easily and saved Athenians of the bloody tribute.

There are thousands of explanations similar to that above for everything that

continuous to be presented as mysterious so that they can no be attribuated to men,

but to out-earth gods only as those of Daniken.

Taking this opportunity I can inform you that I am still waiting for an answer that he

has promised me since 1976. Answer that he never gave me when he visited Athens.

I make no more comments.

CONCLUSION

The three different legs of my theory concern:

a)The collapse of the theory that the out – terrestrials are the carriers of the

pre-historic civilization.

My own theory is that the “self luminous” people of this planet and especially

Atlantes were the carriers of the very ancient civilization.

1. b) The correction of the theory of Prof. A. Galanopoulos that

Atlantis was located in Santorini. We must place there the New Atlantis established by

the survived Atlantes.

1. c) The final location of the Metropolis of Atlantis ‘at the

 

Atlantic Ocean, as Plato did and as the discoveries and the Russians at the

above place justify.

Atlantic civilization flourished in a huge island just in front of Hercules columns.

This civilization was similar to the one we have today and lost with the sinking of

Atlantis.

GENERAL CONCLUSIONS

(Chapter 21 Greek edition)

In the previous chapter we put forward a number of general views relevant to the

subject developed in this book.

Recapitulating what was examined in the first and second parts of this treatise, we

come to the following conclusions:

1.People were compelled by their environment and by an inner urge to devise

methods to improve their lives. They began with the finding of food, and concerned

themselves for their safety by taking refuge, first in caves and in cavities of trees.

Then they made huts, mud huts, stone houses. From the primitive use of pure

metals, they gradually improved them, to produce superb artifacts, jewelers and

statues.

2.The people of Atlantis flourished in the years between the Stone and the Bronze

Ages, occupying the area described in the preceding chapter with its favorable climatic

conditions for such an advance. Consequently, Plato’s Atlantis was not Utopia. It was a

reality.

3.Additional data on Atlantis from various very ancient sources, from incredible

and apocryphal memories, find, traditions and legends, even the intelligence of eels,

persuade us of its existence and the development of the amazing “mythical”

civilization. The identification with the legend is perhaps due* to the misunderstanding of

this poetic character.

4.The indefinite dating of very ancient events misleads people and the history of

the human race and its civilization is presented as unconnected from the 2000th year

of the old chronology and even earlier. The classification of the data we have presented

will perhaps constitute the foundations of the time bridge connecting prehistoric with

historical events and the point of departure for our course back towards the more ancient

events. These data, however, which show the events in either a clear or veiled light

shake many beliefs that have existed for centuries and which prevailed everywhere in

the world. Science must not be based on superstitions. It must proceed to the

imposed revision of old beliefs based of false data or on data which have been

misinterpreted.

5.The heroes of Atlantis were confused with the giants and were identified with the

then gods of the peoples, while their descendants hold their scepters and rule in the

most populated regions of the mainly temperate zone of the earth, as “Sons of the Sun”,

or as leaders and teachers, as scientists and wise law-givers, as builders of cities and

organizers of states, as artists and cultivators. They were generally reformers and were

concerned to a considerable extent with the health, eugenics and refinement of

humankind.

6.Without doubt, the people of Atlantis were the unknown “people of the sea”, the

builders of the Cyclopean walls, the imposing buildings, the pyramids and domes, the

temples, alter sand oracles, the harbors and aerodromes. They were inventors,

architects and engineers, the makers of a strong fleet and seafarers. They were experts in

manipulating the copper, bronze and precious metals, which they gave to the peoples

of the Mediterranean and Central America.

7. They made the Sun and the trident their emblems and later the Moon, the

stars, the snake and the dragon, Their venerable ancestor, Poseidon, was worshipped

in all the coastal cities as god of the sea and protector of seamen, like St Nichol as in

Christian religion, and temples to that “god” existed everywhere, as they do to the modern

holy man. The omnipotence of Poseidon is due to the many ships the people of Atlantis

 

had at their disposal and with which they conquered all the islands around Atlantis and

spreadedout into the neighboring areas later to colonize the coastal countries of the

Mediterranean.

8.Atlas was par excellence the human hero who linked his name with his own country

and with the countries in which the imperial people of Atlantis extended their rule. His

kingdom was the brightest and most renowned, eclipsing all the later races, because in its

day Atlantis flourished so much that the same king abandoned earthly matters and

occupied himself with heavenly matters, astronomy and space – travel (Pleiades, Orion,

Hermes, winged sandals, steeds and chariots, very old incomplete and complete

pictures and descriptions reminiscent of airplanes and various flying objects).

9.The texts, ideograms, hieroglyphics and generally the language, beliefs, habits

and customs, the kinds and forms of every art, the graphic pictures, symbols (trident,

sun, snake etc.)., place – names and names of heroes and “gods”, birth right, the

embalming of important dead people, incredible memories having the identical import,

stone “idols”, graves, very ancient relics, all these constitute earthly finds. Their

homogeneity in the temperate zone, east and west with Atlantis as its centre, is a living

sign and data leading to the lost Atlantis, the metropolis of civilization, whence it spread to

the east and west.

10.The geological disturbances and the natural upsets of that volcanic and seismic

area with the apparently fragile earth -crust and under the pressure of the south and north

currents of the strong winds in the area, the torrential rain and the rising-up by the force of

the sea – waters that inundated the area, brought about the upheaval and sank the

civilized island.

The dispersal of those who survived in the regions around the Atlantic Ocean and

mainly on the coasts of the Mediterranean and Central America previously colonized, the

traditions and the descriptions in the same areas of the flood and the sinking of a large

island, as well as the maps of unknown origin (atlases), not forgetting the indirect

testimonies springing from the “myths”, complete the cycle of proof and evidence for the

existence of the lost Atlantis.

Since I am addressing myself to Erich von Daniken, I should like to conclude my book

by answering the specific questions he formulates at the end of his book. “Return to the

Stars”. First, though, I should like to emphasize that quite a number of Daniken’s

assertions, observations, arguments, thoughts, questions and doubts confirm my theory,

which I set up against his.

QUESTIONS: 1. Have data about ancient traditions been misunderstood in the

previous millennia? 2. Have our interpretations and our efforts been on the wrong track?

3. Are we examining what has always been in front of our eyes in a more complicated

manner than it is in reality? 4. Have, intelligent, practical and technical instructions been

interpreted as religious – philosophical mysteries? And 5. Perhaps traditions concealed in

myths and religions have less mystery and much more realism than has been believed for

whole millennia.

To these five questions I answer YES, INDEED. It is true that many passages in

ancient texts of traditions and beliefs have been interpreted with, various views that are

far away from reality, intentionally so on many occasions, or they have been

misinterpreted by mistake. They conceal less mystery and more realism, albeit human,

earthly and not extra -.terrestrial, as we have partly developed in the previous chapters.

With the extra -terrestrial view of realism I believe we lend great dimensions to the

mystery and we end up in an endless chain of questions without answer.

For the sake of argument, let us admit that the people of Atlantis learnt from the

Martians. Were the Martians self -taught? No! The inhabitant of the planet Jupiter

enlightened them. For this reason, and according to “Theogony”, Mars is considered the

 

son of Jupiter. And who taught Jupiter? Of course… his father, Saturn! And Saturn? Titans

reached Saturn from another constellation which the Giants had first occupied, and they

had made an expedition from… Andromeda from… the Galaxy beyond! “Hail,

immeasurable depths and invisible heights”.

We do not solve the problem like that, Mr Daniken. We are confused and create new

problems. If we follow this course, we shall never arrive at self enlightened beings. How do

we under -estimate the human race, man the creation of an important civilization of the

past, present and future, by stopping at some beginning?

We are not, of course, very, very wise beings! We could, however, respect what we

were and what we are. We therefore discard the theory that we belong to externally –

enlightened beings.

And in the event of man meeting intelligent beings in his passage from planets and

stars in space, a thing that I believe will happen, that does not mean that his self-

sufficient will be shaken.

In any case, with the first investigations of the spaceships Viking I and Viking II, that

landed on Mars on 20th July and 3rd September 1976, the “Martians”, who “gave us the

light”, have been excluded temporarily from the extra-terrestrial beings.

To your sixth question, I give you the answer that the fragments of human pre-

history gave us and continue to give us sufficient information about our past. And I am

optimistic about the future. There still exist many hidden and buried remains that will reveal

to us many dark corners of the past. We can equip the bulldozers with tracing equipment

before they destroy the buried precious material of our pre-history.

Questions 7-15 about the investigations that should take place will be answered at

the end.

To questions 16 and 17 I reply that some foundation or an intergovernmental

organization, such as UNESCO, should collect these, in your opinion, enigmatic data of

ancient civilizations – quite a number of which I have decided in this book.

To questions 18-21 the answer is that men were never blind. They did not give the

necessary significance to earthly matters, because they are tedious. It is easier to wait for

“manna” from heaven! We can kill one at her for matters that are often insignificant, and

that can be solved peacefully. However, we spend more time and trouble buying some

kind of uncertain hope. We still .do not understand that our best stroke of luck is our

brains and our hands and the reward is the return from our work.

In questions 22-29 Utopia is confused with metaphysics, the allegorical and the

parabolic. The promises of religions from the time of their birth up to now are the glitter of

our desires. We seek in the sky that we are missing on earth. A paradise, happiness,

peace, tranquility. But we can create these assumptions on earth, too. Religions draw

the human race towards the sky, not because man is seeking to find “god”, but

because they promise him a happy life – after – death. What could be better than to

enjoy it in “the Kingdom of the skies”, since it is certain that it cannot be continued on

earth for more than an earthly century!

The two final questions, 30 and 31, refer to the dream of mankind “to ascend to

the sky”. This ascent in inverted commas has a double meaning. Ascent of the intellect

for the explanation of phenomenon of the sky and the actual landing of men by spaceships

on one or some or more stars. People have been seeking and trying for both of them from

the very earliest times. I agree that, in order to succeed in this, a common universal

language must be established for a new spirit to be developed, which must broaden our

conscience and erase, if possible, our egoistic and mean – spirited feelings. This spirit is

cultivated by many on a universal scale and will sometime, perhaps at the beginning of

the next century, prevail in a world – wide society because it will contribute to the solving

 

of earthy problems. It would be realistic for science to examine from all sides the

interpretations that still today appear fantastic and refer to ancient texts, stone

monuments, old coins, graphic pictures, vases, wall, floors, clay and metal tablets and

fossilized sherds.

To questions 7-15, which we have left to the end, and to which, to some extent, you

formulate proposals for investigations which should take place, and you ask if and when

they will be realized, I reply briefly with an aphorism:

I believe that the powers – of the earth are not blind. However, a blind egoism

dazzles them, the glare of the old monarchic spirit, of self-interest and megalomania.

By this spirit they are led to the unreasonable, provocative competition in armaments.

But under the pressure of universal public opinion, if we do not wish to be lost like

Atlantis, the powers will form peaceful proposition or cooperating in the field of

research beneficial for mankind.

I like wise believe that systematic future research will strengthen our conviction

in the existence of lost Atlantis, the rulers of the world.

*He was born in Kanalia, of Karditsa, in 1924. He went to the Karditsa High Scholl

and continued his studies in Athens and Thessalonica. He took the Panteios School

Diploma and a Diploma in Law. He is a Customer Inspector, devoting his spare time to

writing and being a member of the Society of Greek Writers. He made his appearance in

the literary world in 1944-45 by collaborating on Thessalonica newspapers. In 1945-46 he

wrote two studies for “Agricultural Youth”, dealing with the problems and struggles of

young people in agriculture. In 1950-52 he worked on the “Progressive Liberal”

newspaper. In 1961-62, under the name VASPAS, he produced the “Parallel Lives” of

Plutarch (6 volumes), which he had rendered into Demotic Greek. In 1964 he brought

out a collection of stories under the title “The Road of Peace” and the “Anthology of

Modern Greek Stories” (two volumes). In 1965 he published the novel “Scorned Youth”

and in 1966-67 “Pioneers in Space”. In 1967 published the children’s book “The Star of

the Peacocks” and the anthology entitled “Selected Fairy Tales”. IN 1970 he collaborated

in the publication of “New Family Adviser” (G. Bibis). In 1971 he published the texts

dealing with manners and customs of the people “Echoes from Western Thessaly”. In

1973 he published in PARNASSOS magazine the study, “Western Thessaly in Arms –

Kanaliot Fighters of 1821”. In 1976 he brought out the book “The Atlantes, Mr. Daniken”, a

thoughtful study of very ancient civilizations (it has reached a second edition). In 1979

he published three children’s books with the following titles:

Greek Backs Plato Theory on Where to Find Atlantis
ATHENS, Aug. 28:
A Greek researcher says he has determined the exact where abouts of the legendary island continent of Atlantis and has brought together many recent conflicting theories as to its location.
His theory has some similarities to the story by Plato, who some 24 centuries ago first wrote about a “lost continent” with an advanced civilization.
Vasilios Paschos says Atlantis was a continent larger than Asia in the area now occupied by the Atlantic Ocean. He says it had a population of about 60 million and had colonies in Latin America and the Middle East. He says that after the continent sank, around 6 500 B. C., its colonies on the islands of Crete, Delos and Thira, formerly called Santorini, became what he calls the new Atlantis. This area was also largely destroyed by volcanic eruption around 1450 B.C.
Speaking at the recent news conference and later in an interview, Mr Paschos said that American, Soviet, and other scientists had placed Atlantis off the Spanish-Portuguese coast or in the Vermuda triangle or between Crete and Thira. But …..

PROLOGUE ATLANTIS OF THE OCEAN AND AEGEAN SEA The Greek writer Mr Vassilis Th. Paschos, fore saw in his book “Atlantes Mr Daniken, Not the Gods” published in 1976 (second edition 1978) the findings of the Russian scientists in Atlantic Ocean near Madeira. Taking these ruins as a motive, Mr Paschos gave a pre-conference (27-6-79), made announcements from the radio (28-6-78) and gave speeches to societies and organizations and on the cruiser ‘ATLAS’ (12-10-79). In September 1979 was invited on Television by the well known commentator of scientific maters Helen Kypreaou. The subject was ATLANTIS. The new and daring theory of Mr Paschos can used favorable comments not only among the Greek press but also among the foreign one, such as “The New York Times” (29.8.79) “The Culture” of Western Germany etc. It is based on elements collected since 1959 from Homer, Hesiod, Plato, Proclus, Plutarch, Marcellus and other ancient Greek and Latin writers. (Their works are mentioned in his book), on Egyptian papyrus, the Gilgamesh epic poetry of Babylonians, the Bible, the traditions of the people around Mediterranean and Central America and on ancient findings in these areas. His project about Atlantis coincided with the delirium caught by some readers of Erich von Daniken and he felt the need to refute the theory of this German-Swiss, who insists that carriers of the ancient civilizations on earth were out – terrestrials as a lot of Daniken’s elements and arguments lead to Atlantis. (KRIKOS magazine, of London, (Feb. 1977) states that Mr Paschos gives the most informed answer to Daniken, in his book about Atlantes). Mr Paschos dared also, to work out a geographical map of Atlantis based on Homer’s Plato’s and Marcellus elements. Mr Paschos answered with a few words our questions about his theory, as follows: A) “The initial metropolis Atlantis, the one which glorious when Poseidon (Neptune) (the King, not the God) was its master, and reached the peak of its development during Atlas, was a big island situated farther out the Pillars of Hercules (today’s Gibraltar) at the centre of Atlantic Ocean” “Cyclopean Walls, were discovered in Bahamas: Pyramids in Bermudas, triangles and colossal stairs and a destroyed civilization in Madeira”. B) “The main colonies of Atlantis were Santorin (Thira) Crete and Delos. The survived people of Atlantis immigrated to the above islands and put the foundations for the development of New Atlantis of Aegean Sea, where the tradition of the original Atlantis was transferred. “According to the above view of mine, I correct the theory of Prof. Aggelos Galanopoulos, verified by Spyros Marinates, F.R.S, that Atlantis existed in Santorini, and that of Luce, research fellow, who suggested that ancient Crete was named Atlantis, where the well-known civilization was developed. My theory could also be verified with the recent discovery (1976) of Cyclopean Walls similar to those in Bahamas, by Jack Yv Cousteau at the small island of Dias (Jupiter) nearby Iraklion Crete. C) The natives Atlantes (people of Atlantis) were the carriers of the well – known pre-ancient civilizations. They were “self-developed and their civilization on their big island Atlantis was equivalent to our own. This is where all the indications and traditions of the people who live around the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea lead to.
They were not Daniken’s outsiders. The people on this earth were self-tought and they were not spiritually developed by beings of other planets as the fiction theories of Daniken ’s type profess. The civilizing findings are terrestrial, human constructions, and not creations of unknown outside “Gods”. To accomplish the various atlantologists, the Greek writer lists in his book a lot of facts; and furthermore, together with his arguments and his reflections he ventures into new aspects which are the following: 1) “The Atlantes developed powerful navy and conquered the countries from Central America to Mesopotamia and Babylon because they used natural gases or hydro gases as their fuel energy: (Flasks of Eolos – God of the Winds – air of Aztecs – Whirlwind trident – Eolocentaur etc)”. 2) “They made flying apparatuses propelled by natural gases – hydrocarbons with iron bird – Mercury, son of Maea daughter of Atlas, able to fly, with flying sandals – Henkindon with brass bird etc; all of them were adored like Gods”. 3) Most of the “Gods” of ancient Greeks, Latins, Egyptians, Babylonians, Aztecs, Maya etc were Heroes, Rulers, Scientists, wise men, of Atlantic origin, or Governors of Atlantis on these countries, who become popular, legend and Gods 4) “The subject was surrounded by mystery from the survived Atlantes themselves. They spread the idea of their divine origin in order to impose themselves. Later, the clergies, carriers of the above spirit, created the corresponding religions for the perpetuation of their state”. In our edition we present some texts from the above theory which were translated into English during the past. They taken from his book “Atlantes Mr Daniken, Not the Gods” or they are referred to it. Some of them were published or lectured by the writer himself. We believe that with the collection and presentation of these texts we contribute to the idea of popularity of the theory about Atlantis. We also hope to see this book becoming a motive for future systematic scientific works and explorations for the discovery of the real Atlantis and its powerful civilization and for the historic recognition of the work of the philosopher Plato about Atlantis. The reception and reviews surprised the author. The sale of 2.100 books of the first edition and the acquisition of new material and discoveries, such as the pyramids discovered at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in the Bermudan Triangle, reported by Charles Berlitz, have led to a 2nd edition with appendices. b) LETTER TO ERICH VON DANIKEN Mr. Daniken Ariadne’s thread leads me out of the Daedalian labyrinth of your ideas. The creators of the very ancient civilizations were not extraterrestrial beings. They were terrestrial, giants in spirit and self – taught. These people were not taught by others. I match your data with my own, making them my arguments to lay the foundations for my conclusions. All these data lead to The Atlantes, Mr Daniken. I have also studied Atlantis in many books “The Road of Peace” and “Pioneers in Space”. To me, the “myth” took concrete form and became real history.
PART A. THE REAL ATLANTIS Chapter 1. PRE-ATLANTIS (5 pages) Contains: 1) The progress of man from a semi – wild state to a civilized one. 2) The development of the spirit, the first civilizations and evidence of them, up to the Atlantic period. 2. THE ATLANTIS BY PLATO (9 pages) Plato describes Atlantis in his books “Timaeus” and “Critias”. Poseidon settled there and ruled. The country was fertile, and the soil and subsoil were exploited it became rich and “mythical” in beauty. His children, and especially Atlas, made Atlantis powerful and well known by organizing the cities, developing the arts, etc., and in particular, by creating a strong fleet. Fragments and data revealing that the speach is real are underlined. 3. SUPPLEMENTS ON ATLANTIS (11 pages) Plato’s history is supplemented and illuminated by very ancient sources. The ancient writers Proclus, Plutarch, Diodorus Sikeliotis and Crantoras maintain the existence of Atlantis and refer to very ancient sources and discoveries, moreover to the myths supporting the theory that “they contain actual happenings”. Homer in the Odyssey talks about Atlantis, Atlas, his daughters Pleiades, and other heroes. Hesiod mentions the battles of the giants, and Atlas the first astronomer on Earth. Herodotus, Solon, Pindar, Aeschylus, Apollodorus, Strabo, Stephanos Byzantios etc. provide fragments about Atlantis, which are set out in the book. 4. ATLANTIS FROM OTHER SOURCES (10 pages) They are mentioned: Legends of Poseidon, Triton, Amphitrite and the Atlantes. Herakles trip to Hesperides, and his meeting with Atlas. The palm – trees on the islands of the Atlantic. Traditions in Thessaly about the Titans and in other regions about Atlantes. Very ancient American people and place – names have words with the roots -tlan, -atl. Aztlan, the first cradle of the Aztecs, Nakouatlakatloi, the god Kouetzalkoatl, “atlatl” a device for hurling javelins, etc. The Mayans know Atlan and Teitani and believe that they are “Sons of the Sun and the Pleiades”. The traditions of America about Atlantis. The discoveries in the Bahamas, the sunken cyclopean walls. 5. STRANGE MEMORIES (9 pages) Odysseus adventure, Thetys, Aegean, Prometheus, the Cyclops of Poseidon, the island of Circe, their descendants, the ships of the Phaeacians demoting Atlantic techniques. The apples of Hesperides and the bananas were transplanted from Atlantis and not from some other star, as Daniken believes. 6. UNIVERSAL THEME (10 pages) The Epic of Gilgamesh of Babylonians, the DZYAN book of Tibet, the Egyptian papyri, up to the contemporary books, 50.000 in number, that have been written in all languages of the world, mention Atlantis. The majority of writers who hav studied Atlantis consider it real, such as Bacon, Frascator, Gomora, Bernagouar, Rounbeck, Kircher, Silven Bayie, Henry Schliemann, Forest, Cour, Poisson, Haputmann, Wilkins, L. de
Lonai, J. V. Luce, Benoit, Louis German, Th. Moraille, Sapher, James Willard, Durand, Jules Verne, Roger Devin, and many more extracts of which are included by the writer they try to prove, and the majority succeed using scientific data, the existence of Atlantis that sank. Also Greek writers, such as Kampanakis, Negris, Doanides, Galanopoulos, Marinatos, Giannis Kordatos, Ekonomos, etc. 7 AND THE INTELLIGENCE OF EELS (5 pages) Traces of submersion of dry land in the Atlantic. The Sargasso Sea. The seaweed and eels that go there from Europe and America. The views of Pierre Zermie and De Morgan. 8. DEMYTHIFICATION AND VIEWS Atlantes were the bearers of the prehistoric civilization on Earth. The priests of Sais discovered its existence and the data of the “myths” that the pickaxe has confirmed as historical. After the bloom they are presented in the east and west as “sons of the Sun” and they teach the people sciences, arts, justice. There are legends among the people, that they come on flying birds or in chariots. In America they come from the east, in the Mediterranean they arrive from the west. They find cities on the coasts and leave strange traditions. 12. COPPER – BRONZE – ASSOCIATIONS (14 pages) We meet The famous copper race originated from Atlantis. Copper artifacts in America and Mediterranean of the same technique. Bronze, metallurgy. Idaean Fingers and cave of Crete – legends and traditions about the bronze, age and toponomy. The foundries of Babylon, the electrolytes and dry batteries, the bronze eagles, the reflectors of Peru and the other metallic objects of the extra – terrestrial beings of Daniken are Atlantic in origin. 13. TRIDEND – PYRAMIDS – DOMES (14 pages) Consider: The trident, the symbol of the original ancestor of Atlantes, Poseidon. The fishing tool, battle and direction, but also an emblem of thalassocracy. The anchor, reversal of the trident, emblem of shipping and safety. Objects similar in technique, such as axes,
crosses, the swastika, tridents and anchors etc., have been found in excellent condition. Or their representations on ancient coins, frescoes, pottery, in countries in the temperate zone having the Herculean Gates (Gibraltar) as their centre, from Amerika, to the River Ganges of India. The trident of the Andres of the extra-terrestrial beings of Daniken belongs to Atlantes. The pyramids of Egypt – Mexico – Peru of this technique, creations of Atlantes by mechanical means, indications and proofs. Similarly, the Domes and the Dolmen tombs, menhirs and cromlechs. 14. COLONIZATION (12 pages) The geographical diagram of Sun – worshipping starts from the islands of the Atlantic one branch reaches Central America while the other reaches North Africa, the Middle East and the shores of Greece, Italy-berian Peninsula. The same course is followed by the worship of Poseidon and his sovereignty and later the traditions about the Atlantes and the appearance of the people of the sea. The islands of the Western Mediterranean, Corfu, Crete, Santorini and Delos were colonies of Atlantes. Zolatl the God of the Winds or the Underground Word of Aztecs. Or representation of a liquid gas apparatus of Atlantes?”
Strange inscriptions with ideograms, the Linear A script of the Cretans of the pre-Minoan age, the famous Disc of Phaistos, still unexplored sources, the hieroglyphics of the Egyptians that talk about the “King of the Ocean”, Poseidon, have been found in the same circuit. 15. ENIGMATIC CURIOSITIES (14 pages) The Sphinx has not revealed all her secrets: if we interpret the Orphic conception, the divinity Oannis and the cosmogonical avgo (egg), are the ovum and spermatozoon that the Atlantes had clearly discerned and were not transferred by the extra -terrestrial beings of Daniken by syringes. Easter Island was a place of exile for the opponents of Atlantis where they carved rocks to occupy themselves. Relevant to this is the poem of the History of Civilization of Durand, which Daniken does not mention, because it demolishes his contention about extra – terrestrial beings. Atlantes, also, produced airships: They were flown on liquid gases that were contained in the “Skin-bags of Aeolus” which resembled the “God of the Winds” (idolatrous statue of the Aztecs). The tradition in Greece – Italy, the god in America. The picture speaks on its own. The snakes and dragons of Daniken are mythical figures that come from the Gorgon of Medusa, with the loose hair like snakes. A dragon or lizard that flies. 16. ASTRONOMY – AIRSHIPS (10 pages) According to the writings of Homer and Hesiod, Atlas was the best astronomer of pre – historic times. Orion, the Pleiades and Hermes were heroes of the first flying devices. Pleiades test airships and are lost or Killed during flights. Tradition relates that they became stars. The Golden Fleece, a combination of the craft of Phrixus and Helle. The secret of the Argonaut expedition (descendants of the Atlantes after the submergence of Atlantis), the discovery of Phrixus airship. The Stymphalian birds with the “bronze wings” were airships. 17. AND THEY FLEW ALL OVER THE WORLD (14 pages) Data borrowed from Daniken are returned in an Atlantian Fashion. LETTER TO: ERICH von DANIKEN I dare to assure you, Mr Daniken, that I found the Ariadne’s yarn, which will take your readers away from the daedalian labyrinth of your reflections, which are formulated in your books “Recollections from the future”, “Return to the Stars”, “Sowing in space”. I believe that those following my course, they will see the “Giants” who spread their light plentiful to the universe as the Sun which has been their symbol. These giants were terrestrials and self-taught in their mind and power. People only would be able to approach other under developed people of other areas of this earth, to be assimilated with them, to learn their manners and customs and language. You, Mr. Daniken, you want the bearers of the prehistoric civilizations having a borrowed knowledge, foreigners and out -terrestrials. If we admit that the men of the 19th and 20th centuries, ie of our times, who developed such, an important civilization and reached within one or two generations, such an astonishing scientific conquests, are not self – taught but have a borrowed knowledge, then we can admit – and again not without torment – that the bearers of the civilization you report were also of a borrowed knowledge themselves. No invasion, however, by regiments of wise scientists and special leaders came in 19th and 20th centuries, from the stars. All the elements you piled up in your books, Mr Daniken, from the magnificent building masterpieces, to the simple pictures that have been discovered into caves and from the description of flying apparatus, to the plain airfield, which has been pointed out for their landing, they are all terrestrials, comprehensible, human. Certain strange things are not inexplicable. With a little bit of effort and good will these become accessible because they all have a certain similarity between them. They have something that connects them, even if they have been found, a lot of them, thousands of kilometers far from each other. I have compared many of your elements and examples with my own ones and they have become my arguments to lay the foundations of my conclusions. The rich material of your books, the largest part of which I prove true, cleared out an undefined opinion which aired during a certain number of years inside me. It’s about the contents of Aeolus flasks. Now, I have the opportunity to liberate the gases of the king of the Winds, which remained trapped for several thousand years. So I believe that a fair wind will blow to navigate the ship to the right course. The faith gives power and hope. I hope, I am on the right track, as Heraclitus says, to reach the unexpected by investigating. I do not reply as a specialist scientist but as an amateur mediator to an amateur searcher. I shall not even attempt to convince you, dear – having seen the world – friend. I shall try to answer your questions and to divert your perplexities and doubts. I, therefore, reply straight away: The Atlantes Mr Daniken; The terrestrial Atlantes are the founders of the organized human society and the pedestals of the known and, perhaps the unknown prehistoric civilization. Its them who carried the weight of the universe on their shoulders. The picture presenting the Giant Atlas holding up the terraqueous globe, is not based on legends. It is descriptive and meaningful, it shows the ancient human
grandeur. It is not the first time that I undertake this subject. In my book “Pioneers in Space” printed in December 1966 and circulated at the beginning of 1967, I formulated my arguments that the inhabitants of the lost Atlantis were so much developed that they were succeeded to build even flying machines. The first story of my book “the Road of Pease” (edition 1964) is dedicated to Atlantis as well. Previously, in 1959, I had also underlined, (in order to study later) in “Solon’s Life”, his talk with the Egyptian priests about the lost Atlantis. To me, the tale took a specific form and became a true story during the collection of the related material. – ALL THE TRUTH ABOUT ATLANTIS In spite of the fact, that the subject is enormous, multilateral and multidimentional, I shall try to give you an imag as briefly as possible. THE LEGENT AND THE MYTH THE HISTORY AND THE REALITY – Once upon a time there was an island that has today covered by an impenetrable veil of mystery. – This island was occasionally placed in the Soviet or Atlantic Caucasus, or in the Scandinavian peninsula, or in Tunisia, or Libya, or Eggypt, or, finally, in the Sahara desert. – During the last thirty years various writters place it in Crete, or between Crete and Santorini. – However, from the very ancient times it was placed outside Hercules Columns, todays Gibraltar, in the Atlantic Ocean. .- Therefore, Atlantis has taken the form and dimensions of a legend, but at the same time has been treated as a myth. It has, actually, considered by some people as something that never existed. – It has, therefore, created such a confusion that, one has to distinguish between the legend and the reality first, in order to state where it was, what it was and what happened to it, where can possibly be found etc. He has to distinguish between the history and the myth and prove that Atlantis existed. This separation is easy to be d6ne as the elements and pre-suppositions exist, part of which I state: – Socrates sometimes used to say to his pupils: “The maintenance of the myths is always intentional. It aids those they do not like the truth to be revealed. – The inhabitants of Atlantis themselves – as it is ascertained by a multitude of material that I site in my book “The Atlantes and not the Gods” in an effort to prevail and to impose themselves upon the people of their times, with the minimum of economical and human sacrifices, they applied the following plan: 1) They surprised and parallelized the under developed people – with the equal to and perhaps superior of the today’s – military technology, that covered the terrestrial, the maritime the sub-water and the air space! 2) They made the best of this high technology, in combination with the ignorance, the superstition and the religious fanaticism of these people. 3) The Atlantes themselves, they intentionally made a myth of every construction, for their easier imposition and occupation of other countries and they deified themselves exploiting their gigantic dimensions of their bodies, together with their knowledge. 4) The Atlantes, again, they kept the secrets of knowledge and technology in order to avoid certain unpleasant surprises in the future. – A simple confirmation of the above is given by Herodotus (see history book B ‘) who reports that “Thebes priests of Egypt showed me 341 colossal status of “bishops” that every one of) them represented a generation of the past and cover a space time of 11,340 all together. Before these generations “The Gods were living between the people” The priests of Sais – back to Egypt – they said to Solon when he visited the town and talked with them about Atlantis: “The survivors of the distraction (such that of
Atlantis) are a few ignorant and indifferent”. The remembrance of the events was not registered but ruined. In Egypt though there were not any great destructions and deluges and.the events have been registered by the priests and conserved in the temples! – As the role of the clergy and the systems applied by them to subdue the liberal mind and the human power were known over the centuries and even until today, it is not difficult at all for someone to imagine the ways that have been used to employ the scientific material and the related elements found in its possession by some short of way after the destruction of Atlantis. – Moses himself gives us a small example of how the clergy used this atlantic material. According is his Bible (Exodus LC’20). He says the following: “.. And said (the God) You shall not be able to see my face, none must see my face and survive…” – Plutarch reports in many of his chapters that “most of the myths contain real events”. – That puts inside the myth and the legend and presents in his entire grandiose the historical element and the reality thatthey certify the existence of Atlantis. HAS IT BEEN ATLANTIS? YES OR NO? – There is only one answer to this question: YES. This is confirmed by a great number of elements, offered by thousands of relative writings, written in their majority by the best intellectuals, master-minds, and master – speaker – innumerable archeological monuments and findings. These are: – Gilgamesh of Babylonian epic poetry, the book DZYAN of Thibet, the Egyptian papyrus, the ancient Greek historians, wise men, men of letters (educated men), poets etc. such as Herodotus, Solon, Pindar, Aeschylus, Apollodorus, Stravon, Stephen Byzantius, Proclus, Plutarch, Diodorus of Sicily, Crantoras, they all support its existence with positiveness. Some of them offer relative sections for it, some others refer to more ancient sources and findings, yet to myths, making clear that they contain real cases. Therefore, the legend and the myth are put aside by a great number of sources and elements, historical facts and the reality takes their place. – Julius Vern, Vakon, Frascator, Duran, Gomora, Varnago-nar, Rounbeque, Kirkher, Sylven, Bailly, Henry Sleaman, Forest, Kour, pouasson, Hauptmann, Donelly, Wilkings, L. de Launnet,Louis German, Th. Moray, Saffer, James Willard, Roiy6 Devine,J. V. Luce, the later Greeks Kambanakis, Neghris, Deanides,Galanopoulos, Marinates, Kordatos, Economos etc. and very recently Jacques Yv. Cousteau and Andrei Aksenoff, they accept the existence of Atlantis, as they accept it, also, the most of the 50.000 other specialist, searchers, educated people, archeologist, and others who have been engaged with this subject. – It is natural to believe that it is not possible, so many people with such a complicated knowledge and world – wide acceptance to make the same mistake. The one who does not leave any margin to objection and who every day is confirmed, is Plutarch. – In his books “Timeos” and “Critias” describes Atlantis so clearly, that under the light of the modern discoveries, one puts the question to himself: “How is it possible for Plato to know all these details, if Atlantis did not constitute, once upon a time, a reality, but it was a product of imagination or a curious myth making? – In “Timeo”, for example, says Plato: “In front of the entrance named Hercules Columns there was a huge Island. The area of the land occupied by this island was Atlantis”. – Further, he describes the following details: The extension of the island, the sea around it, the climate, the flora, the…underground – the minerals and the metal
elaboration, she Architecture, the irrigating works, the advanced techniques of cultivation, the organization of the state, the population, the ports, the navigation, the military organization, the invasions they have executed in Europe, Asia and Africa, the occupation and colonization, the war against the Greeks (they have been defeated by them) the liberation of the people occupied by the Greeks, the acquaintance between Atlantes and Greeks, (that made Hercules to visit Atlantis), the sinking of Atlantis etc. – Special attention must be given to the following: 1) “They have constructed impressive buildings, majestic palaces and other mansions… temples, altars, large bridges, arcades, harbors, canals, monuments, tombs, pyramids”. 2) Atlantis lost by sinking in the sea. Now, this sea is impassable and unexplored, because the mud of the low rocks created by the sinking of the island is an obstacle”. – How did Plato know, during that epoch, that tombs, domes, pyramids and even series of reefs were existed, as they begun to be discovered since 19th century only? – In his book “Critias” he begins his dialogue with Socrates about Atlantis with the following words “Listen Socrates, a very strange speech but very true also”. As Solon, the wisest between the seven savants, has sometimes narrated. – Socrates answers with the following words: “… and that this speech is not a fictitious myth, but a true account, it is the greatest thing”. Further on, Plato insists for the truth of his narration saying that: “We always remain satisfied when someone talks about the celestials and the divine in abstract. We examine the mortal and the human things with a lot of care. – And it must be underlined that: Plato presents, Critia, who narrates the history about Atlantis, who does not believe to the gods anymore, neither to the existence of the spiritual soul, nor to the religion which he considers an invention of legislators for the nations to be governed easily. Consequently Critias was a realist and clever and not an illusionist narrator or someone who could cheat. – At the same time, Homer talks about the battles between the giants, and especially about Atlas, the first astronomer on earth. He also discusses the genealogy (breed) of the pro-Atlantes time, their posterity etc… THE DIFFERENT FINDINGS -There are a lot of findings that make the idea about theexistence of Atlantis authentic. We are, in fact, going to mention The most considerable ones. Therefore we are going to make their relation with the lost city more comprehensive by referring to other relative sections. To this attempt, I believe, it will help very much a short and epigrammatic relation to who Atlantes were, what they believed, what civilization had developed, what their technology, discoveries and occupations were. WHO WERE ATLANTES AND WHAT THEY BELIEVED Atlantes were descendants of Titan Atlas, Prometheus brother, son of Neptune, as Plato says. – The mythology presents Atlantes as vigorous, strong, well constituted and tall. It describes them as Titans, Giants, not knowing what the words fear and terror meant.
– The history is also referred to different gigantic fighters who appeared separately or in groups in different combats, especially during the prehistoric epoch, as Goliath, Enkidon, Gilgamesh, Ippomedon, joint – commander in the complain against Thebes, etc. The Head of Atlantes, himself, – Neptune – held in his hands an enormous bronze trident and, it is believed, that he used it to direct and steer the watery element. – The trident was one of the emblems of the posterior Atlantes. It became the emblem of the bronze epoch, and a direction recognizing signal. The anchor has been an inverted variation of the trident. Trident variations were many, taking into account the meaning of the distinctive recognition signal… – The primitive Atlantes, as well as the other people of the world, dazzled by the sun brightness, being very enthusiastic by its beneficial influence, accepted it as their God and becomes un worshipers; Their descendants who developed a serious and successful civilization and developed the astronomy, they did not, of course, look at the sun with the same meaning. Because they did not like to throw away the ancestral believes and did not only mind but were favourized with them, they chose the sun as their symbol, their signal and emblem and as an instrument of domination and cosmocracy. And in order to show their superiority and to subdue the nations easier apart of the other methods employed, as I have already cited – they characterized themselves as…” Sons of the Sun”. Different archeologists and searchers have found the sun and the trident as their emblem in a great number of objects made…within the same axle of the temperate zone, from America to India (reached by Atlantes) but with Her cules’s Columns as a centre (today’s Gibraltar). – The inhabitants of Atlantis were living peacefully on their island, in 10 districts kingdoms, controlled by the same number of kings, under the high command of the king of kings, who was the central king – leader of Atlantis. They were living in peace, tied up by an oath that: “Never use the arms, one against the other”… – They were superior in character, obedient to the laws, to the leaders, the priests the soothsayers, who looked after their health and their easy living. They had no passions and hate between them, they believed to God, they were pious, honest, with generous sentiments, that the richness and the comfortable living did not change them, until a certain epoch. – This description about Atlantes is done by Plato. From his reference and other sources about their civilization and technology they developed, we learn the following. WHAT THEIR CIVILIZATION AND TECHNOLOGY WERE Artificial Lakes – Barrages. – Irrigation works, control of cultivation. The island of Atlantis was beautiful and admirable, rich and so much productive, that disposed the goods of life in a great abundance and variety. – Atlantes themselves contributed, of course, in the productivity and the abundance. They were laborious and progressive and because of the mild climate and the ideal environment They were intelligent, keen sighted, strong and equipped with superior virtues. – They had constructed, for example, a lake of 1,850 km2 in the most productive plain where they collected the surplus water and by a special network used it during the summer months. By doing so, they regulated the cultivation and they harvested twice a year. – They had also constructed water dams on the mountains. These were connected with the plain by another canal network. They used to concentrate the timber they had
previously cut in these lakes and after opening the barrages of the dams and left the water flow down the plain, they were successfully transporting the timber and, also, irrigating the plain. Consequently, under such climatic conditions and technical applications, a rich vegetation and cattle raising added to the already rich greenfinch and flora of the island. – In the sacred forest of Neptune there were curing springs with cold and hot waters, open air reservoirs, covered ones, gardens with flowers and plants, gymnasiums and a hippodrome!… More elements of their civilization, we shall see below, in the colonization. SCIENCES, LEGISLATION and EVPHORIA Atlantes had developed sciences in a high degree. In Astronomy and Geometry they had such a great knowledge that the Oxford University professor Alexander Tom accepts that. “The man in the Neolithic epoch had such a knowledge in Astronomy and Geometry, that today we find it difficult to believe it: Their legislation contained elements of a deep study, experience and especially character. Atlantes were so much advanced in the study and analysis of the human body, that they knew the ovum and the sperm and therefore one can now explain the passages of the epic poetry of Gilgamesh and the Bible for the Eugonia (posterity). MULTILATERAL USE OF METALS AND OF IVORY The islands underground was also rich and the scattered information of ancient sources about the Copper and the bronze, converge towards Atlantis. Plato, the priests of Egypt and many other writers, accept that Atlantis tiad been rich in mineral ores. Elladicus who studied even more ancient sources than those of Plato, underlines that “The famous bronze race resulted from Atlantis”. And the modern researcher Roge Devin has proved that: “Those who brought the bronze to the other people were Atlantes, the race of bronze” – Atlantes – according to Plato – had constructed mines andfoundries and they organized handicrafts for the elaboration of the metals. – All the necessary to Atlantes tools, as well as other useful! things were made of the best metals. – The kings and the leaders emblems, the sacred utensils, the jewels and the craters for the sacrifices, were made of gold. – Many of their statues were a work of art with gold and ivory, as there was a large number of elephants in Atlantis, as well as silver and bronze together. – Their temples were constructed with large colorful stones and the most efficient ones were covered with… golden, or silver or bronzed sheets. – They had coated the Acropolis wall with plates in bronze, in such a manner that it looked as shinning in flames when the sunbeams reflected on it. – In Acropolis, also, there was the fabulous in beauty temple of Neptune, constructed of gold and ivory. EDIFICES – PYRAMIDS – HARBOURS – SHIPYARDS NAVAL STATIONS Atlantes constructed imposing edifices, majestic palaces, magnificent mansions, temples, altars, large bridges, arcades, harbors, shipyards, naval stations, canals, artificial lakes, a large number of statues, monuments, tombs and… pyramids. – The palaces and acropolis were surrounded by watery ditches that were connected to passage which they led to the centre.
– The passages were shut by gates framed by towers –guardhouses which were inter-connected by foot-bridges constructed over the gates. A trireme could pass through! These watery passages, between the towers – guardhouses and under the bridges. – The water trenches of acropolis were connected to the sea by one canal the depth of which was 25 m. The distance between acropolis and the sea was 9.250 m. and at the end of the canal there were an opening which allowed the ships to pass through the water trenches. – In order to construct the walls of the central palace, Atlantes, cut enormous rocks and therefore opened caves. At the end they found themselves with two deep “warehouses” which they used to hide their ships. ENGINEERING KNOWLEDGE Atlantes had invented a special technique in building construction. This can be seen by the volume of the buildings, the dimensions and the weight of the large stones that they used and also by the almost perfect elaboration of these stones and the walls construction. – This technique has been transported by Atlantes to the countries they had conquered, or delivered to the Greeks after their defeat by them, together with elements of engineering. – So, in the allegorical presentation that is made, in order to describe and reproduce the construction of Thebes walls in Greece, it is said that: “Amphionas playing his lyre had made the large stones, that his brother Zithos was carrying, to dance in the air and fit the walls. – It is not difficult, for someone, to reject this completely unfeasible description and in the place of Arnphionas to see a machine operator, and instead of the lyre another machine with chains and robes instead of cords, creaking, as the winches do today. ANVILS – HAMMERS – PLIERS – ADZES – DRILLS PICKAXES The view that Atlantes had engineering knowledge is confirmed by Homer, in Odyssey (C 432): “And of goldsmith’s anvil, hammer, well made pincher”… and in Iliad (C 131): “Blacksmiths with furnaces and blowers are making the weapons of the bronzed Achaios”… And again in Odyssey (1379-393) “As the copper craftsman deeps into the cold water a hammer or a great pickaxe and this one makes this familiar noise,… I revolved it in a similar way… as the carpenter drills a ships beam using a machine tied up with a belt and moved by other men underneath and this one revolves non stop”. Homer, here, delivers elements of mechanical inventions which we also meet today, applied with the same name. THE USE OF ELECTRICITY STEAM, GASES AND HYDROCARBONS It has already been proved by the study of numerous findings that the electricity was not unknown in ancient world. In the museum of Baghdad, eg, we can see today., dry electrical cells of that epoch, electrical systems with copper electrodes and a special electrolyte. Peculiar candlesticks have been found in the ancient tombs of Egypt. They say that they were burning for centuries. Plutarch refers to the inextinguishable small lamp burning in the temple of Algeria. Augustin had discovered a flame which was burning in honor of Isis and could not be extinguished by the wind or the.. water.. – S. R. Felligina, a writer who has been specialized to this subject, ended to the conclusion that: “It concerns batteries that they produce electricity. Altantes passed an electric current though a filament closed in a glass bulb or an analogous transparent
bulb and this produced a low but impressionable light. – Subterranean ducts, probably used to pass steam, hydrocarbons or some other gas which was plenty around that area were discovered in the plateau of Tiakhouanako. STEAM – GASES – LIQUID GASES – HYDROCARBONS It is confirmed in my book, that Atlantes had invented and employed the steam, gasses, liquid gasses and the hydrocarbons, in different applications. The picture of the God of the winds is characteristic (Statue for worship of the Aztlan tribe of ancient Aztecs. Looks like a contemporary gas-bottle with taps, cap, handles etc and reminds us the skins of Eolos (“Atlantes and not the Gods”). ROBOTS GOING THREE TIMES ROUND CRETE For the Cretan Hero, Talos, has been said that he had the ability to make the tour of the island three times a day, to detach enormous rocks from the mountains and to throw them to the sea destroying the enemy ships. To destroy the enemy with fire that came out of his bowels, to destroy others with his…flaming arms. At the same time he was ceasing, became motionless and inactive by some form of energy, hidden into his knees. He could not, certainly be anything else but a robot. This idea has benn accepted by the searchers of the 20th century characterizing it as the first robot in the worlds history. It is worth mentioning that the very ancient people of Talayotes, living on the Valearides islands belonging, to Spain and been close to Gibraltar, arrived there from… the west and later moved to Crete. (Today we have Talea mountains, called (die). A similar robot was also the Taurus of Neptune. It thrashed destroyed Crete Sparta and Marathon causing destruction and panic with the flames they were coming out of its nostrils… SHIPS WITHOUT CREW AND RUDDERS Homer makes an important description of ships that the contemporary ship builders and naval architects have not yet succeeded to build. “The Pheacians ships have no captains governors and not rudders as the other ships have, but they are controlled by the opinion. They know the peoples minds, the countries and the thick fields of the universe; and they pass very fast the big mouth of the sea hidden in the fog and the clouds without losing their way and without worring to be sunk. I have heard my father saying that. The Pheasian king of Corfu confessed the above to Ulysses during his visit there. Nafsithoos, son of Neptune told also all about it to Alkinoo. Nafsithoos who had been obliged by Cyclopes to emigrate to Skheria from Iberia and reached Corfu. ENORMOUS VESSELS AND SUBMARINES WITH TOPREDOES Lucian in his work “Speech of the true history 1,42″ presents the mythical Aeolocentaure, as a leader of a human group who lived in an enormous sea monster”… of one thousand and five hundred stades in size” (1 stade = 100 fathom, 1 fathom = 1,83 cm.). The size of this vessel should be 2745 m. – There are, also, many descriptions about submarines and here are some of them. – On one hand – written cylinder that has been found in the Dead Sea there is a description that says: “The sons of light (of the sun = Atlantes) had a vessel it could be submerged and
shoot steel Javelins”. A peculiar being appeared to Chaldeans several thousand years ago. It was half fish and half man. He came out of the sea as a stranger and gave to Chaldeans the principles of civilization. They called him Oannis, meaning stranger in the Assyrian language! Oannis dived into an egg, under the sea during the night and came out again during the day. He became famous and obtained such a power that letter became a Babylonian divinity and was adored as the first civilizator of Assyria and Babylon. – The settler Janus who landed in Italy, the story with biblical lonah who stayed into the belly of a sea – monster for some days are well known. Hercules, whom Plutarch accepts as a historic and not a mythical person, traveled to Atlantis in a bronze vat (probably a submerged vehicle). Here are some of them. – Texts were discovered, in the pyramids of the ancient kingdom of Egypt, which describe Pharaohs journeys in the sky with the aid of God and His ships. – The tradition in the Easter Island (Rapa Nui) says: “Long time ago, flying giants arrived in our island from the sun and the stars. This is why our island has been re-named… country of the birdmen. These giants constructed the stone – statues and the enormous temple of the sun, by using their superhuman power”. – The description is referred to a legend for the Easter Island on which stone hatched statues with a hat or helmet, of 8,000A.C. were found. There were, also, found hand hatches and more heavy tools that only giants could use easily. All those above give the image of Atlantes. “Someone called Maharsi Bharadwaja, one Hindu soothsayer of the ancient times, described with a great precision a flying machine that the “priests of science” called Viand. It moved like a bird, by an internal force, on the earth, the waters and in the air. It travelled long distances from country to country”. -“Vimaana was consisted of 31 main components, pieces, and 16 kinds of metals. They did not break, could not be separated, or burned or destroyed. They could make
themselves invisible. They could detect noises and conversations from other airships”, etc. The description as well as the text is very old sanscritic and of an unknown date. The “International Academy of the Sanscritic Research” of Myzore, India has… confirmed it. There are hundreds of other descriptions and pictures of air ships and pilots found in different places, like bronze eagles, flying dragons, birds with copper wings, airfields etc. -A curiously noted space is extended in Peru, 160 km from Pisco. Large runways, radiated corridors, can be seen from every long distance, because they are shining. If you see the whole space from above it looks like a modern airport with geometrical lines and controllers. Further up in the gulf of Pisco an emblem like a trident is designed with large efflorescent stones, on a mountain side showing towards the over said^ airport. At state Bang of Bogota, Colombia there is the golden “aircraft model of Inkas”, it has an aerodynamic shape, a pilot’s protective cabin, two rudders, triangular wings… and a fin on the tail, just like Concord. At Olmeken park of Vilahermoza, Mexico there is a monolithic monument showing – an aviator’s face wearing a helmet. Just in front of his lips there is an apparatus , which looks like a microphone!… – Looking back to the numerous descriptions and findings which have been discovered in different territories and countries of the globe, one comes to the conclusion that Atlantes had flown by aircrafts and travelled by ships to the known by that timeworld. They also organized colonies or left their traces civilizing the ignorants. Findings and traces have been found in the south and Central America, in the pacific and Atlantic Oceans, in most of the Mediterranean Countries of Europe and Africa, in Middle East and Asia. The identity of the techniques involved confirm something only: The passing of Atlantes from all these countries and territories. THEIR RELATION WITH THE GREEKS Hesiod reports that: “The sea people came from the West”. Devin accepts that. “The sea people of Hesiod came from the West and they were Atlantes passing through Gibraltar and settled in the Mediterranean islands. – Hercules (Plutarch accepts him as an existed person) went to Atlantis. He allied with Atlantes, who left the control of the Mediterranean from Hercules columns to the East, to him and to the Greeks and kept the control of the Atlantic ocean themselves. Greeks, of course, protected Atlantes rights too. – The alliance and the important role of the Greeks are shown by: 1) The fact that Atlas deposited – for a certain time – the “Heavens Load” on Hercules Shoulders, which means that he released himself of a great weight (responsibility). 2) The fact that Hercules delivered back to Atlas his seven daughters, the famous Atlantides or Pleiades, abducted by the king of Egypt Vousiris. – One daughter of Atlas, Electra obtained Danao with Zeus the head of the Greek race. – Pyrra, descendant of Atlantes obtained Hellenas with Deucalion who had an Atlantic origin. – The relationships from one hand and the alliance from the other, permitted the transfer in Greece of previous knowledge or astronomy, astrology, metal workmanship and even cultivation since Hercules brought back with him “The Golden apples of Hesperides”, that is: Lemons, Oranges etc. and probably bananas.
Homer referring himself to the Elysian fields in the ocean, says: “At the nutritive earth the limits (borders) I will go to see the… mother”… – Plato, in “Timaeus” describes Atlantis and other characterizing it as a vigorous force, he says: “This most vigorous force rushed out the Atlantic Ocean and invaded Europe and Asia at the same time”. – And he continues: “The other people had been occupied. But the Athenians, who had the command of all the Greeks and were united and surpassed in psychical vigor and in the war techniques, vanquished the invaders. They also chased them and settled free other people”… – Many of the ancient representations, especially status, testify and confirm the influence that the tradition of Atlantis and its heroes had, mainly on Greeks. – A very ancient jug of Attica, representing Atlas. – The lowest bone of the spine is called Atlas. Because it carries the weight of the human body. – Several geographical maps have been named Atlantes. – There were statues of Atlas in the most important ancient towns. – Atlas who supports heavens is represented in the metope of Temple of Zeus at Ancient Olympia. The sculptured image is preserved in the museum of Olympia. – In the ancient theatre of Backus there were representations of Atlas. The famous disc at Phaistos of Crete, with the 242symbols, which give 45 different illustrated characters and it is considered to be the first mould with separate types – used in typography, is of indefinite age and remains a unique and mysterious document, sample of another pre-Minoan rather and Atlantic origin. GREEK ISLANDS AND COLONIAN TERRITORIES OF ATLANTES Without having in mind the copper constructions and the objects existed by that time and discovered later in different countries, Plato, connects the copper epoch with Atlantis. We meet many copper findings and relative toponyms in Greece. Homer called Cyprus “bronzed”. The Roman expression “Aes Cyprium” means “metallic Cyprus”. Accordingly, the copper made jug-ship of Hercules, the colossus of Rhode, the Idean Fingers, searchers, technicians of metallurgy, the Pheasians Palace in Corfu where copper was dominating were known. We also see in Greece: 1) The ruins of the very ancient town of Chalcis at the Corinthian Gulf. 2) The homonymous town of Chalcis at the estuary of river Alfios described by Strabo. 3) The homonymous town Chalcis in Euboea still existed. 4) The district of Chalcidiki. 5) The island Chalci in Aegean Sea. 6) Chalcidona in Salonica and Bosporus, etc. When native Athenians revolted against the Neptunius Atlantes, the Calcideans of Euboea invaded Athens in order to help their relatives Atlantes.
– Delos was one of the colonies of Atlantes. According to the history of the island, the first inhabitants of Delos were pre-greek of unknown nationality. Neptune – father of Atlas – sent Lito to Delos to give birth to Apollo, god of the Sun and the Light. – The Pheasians, people of Corfu, their kings Nafsithoos and Alkinoos and queen Ariti, were descendants of Atlantides, (Atlas daughters) as goddess Minerva reveals to Ulysses. – The temple of Neptune in Corfu was of the same technical construction to that of Atlantis as Plato describes. Crete was one of the first islands that Atlas colonized. The name Crete belonged to an Atlas niece who married someone from the above island. Here, we met the Idean Fingers, the robot Talo, the other robot Taurus of Poseidon, all related to Atlantis and a lot of traditions about it. – Icarus and Deadalus arrived in Crete, but we do not know where from. Deadalus, as it is known, was a flying machine maker. He had even succeeded to build an apparatus which used to fly away from Crete with Ikarus. ATLANTIS FROM OTHER SOURCES Some additional elements that confirm the existence of Atlantis and its Cosmographic role are the following: The legends about Neptune’s descendants and Atlantes. The transition of Greeks and Phoenicians at the Atlantic islands. The reserch from the very old times of Pharaohs. Transitions about Titans at the Greek Thessaly, Boeotia and Peloponnese. Atlantes in other territories. The very ancient american people and the toponymes have roots like… tlan – atl – Aztlan is the original crib of Aztec, Nakbonalautes was the name of a race and kouetzalkoatl and Tlalok their Gods. Atlatl was the javelins shooting machine etc. Mayas know Atlan and Teitan: and believe that they are the sons of the Sun and Pleiades. The findings in Bahamas, the cyclopean walls found in Troy and in the small island Dia of Crete, in Sicily, Syria, Cyprus, Mycenae, in Thebes and other places. The mountains Atlas of Morocco and Atitlan of… Guatemala. The pyramids of Egypt, the ones in Bahamas, Mexico, Bolivia etc, are of the same technical construction and used as observatories and pilot shelters as well as fuel stores, too. The Piri Reis maps and Atlantes (Ptolemy geographical maps) the spherical stones of Costa Rica the Anticythera apparatus, etc, etc. ATLANTIS EXISTED, WHERE? – Homer, Hesiod, Herodotus, Aeschylus, Plutarch, Philon, Proklos, Aristarchus, Kratis, Apollodorous and much more later accepted the Existence of the continent of Atlantis and they placed it across the Hercules Columns (todays Gibraltar) in the Atlantic Ocean. Diodoros of Sicely accepts – without any doubt -that it actually existed, in his work: “Historical Librady” (Book II, XLV 1125) he writes: …Ekatoes and many others say that further up the Celtic sites, towards the ocean, there is an island not smaller than Sicely. The excellent academic Crantoras sustains with obstinacy that Atlantis Existence is a historic fact. – Plato says in “Timaeus”: In front of the opening called Hercules Columns, there was a large and powerful island. The area occupied by this island, could be called a continent. This island was called Atlantis”… And he continuous: “The sea, around that continent is a real sea, an ocean. The place around the channel (Gibraltar) looks like a port having a narrow entrance” The legends of the people of America, can see the sons of the sun to appear from the East, i.e the Atlantic side and to disappear again towards East. In the contrary,
the heroes related to the sons of the Sun of the Sumerians of Mesopotamia and Egypt, they saw them coming from the West and to disappear towards it. Inkas and Mayas of America believed that Atlantis was to the East. The Mayas legends talk about a god Kouatzalcoatl that came from a strange country of the Rising Sun. – According to these facts which they place Atlantis in Atlantic Ocean there are more important ones. – Researcher Charles Berlitz says: “River beds which have been sunk, were discovered at the continental shelf from the two sides of Atlantis. – The water of Hudson River of New York, continues to flow underground more than 2,000 m. There is a very deep valley of 1100 m. between rocks. Such an underground morphology is met only in cribs formed on the surface and sunk later. – Examining the Atlantic coasts around Atlantis, the sinking can be confirmed. The separation of United Kingdom from Europe, the sinking of the Norwegian coasts, the rise of the sea level in the low Countries, they can only be attributed to the Atlantis sinking. – Piere Zermie, in his work “Atlantis”, gives us the following elements: “The Atlantic bottom is volcanic. The lava pulled up by the searchers, from a depth of 3,000 m. had to have a crystal texture. Instead, it was found to be basaltic and glassy. The geologists were positive: “It constitutes a sinking lava element from volcanoes lost in the sea together with the land. – The researcher Catherine Cagemayster sustains that “Atlantis has a certain relation with the sea plateau that lays under Azores of Atlantic Ocean. The oceanographic search brought on surface certain elements, that show the similarity ofthe area, that has Plato described in “Timaeus”. IT EXISTED IN ATLANTIC OCEAN AND HAS BEEN SUNK There is, therefore, no doubt that Atlantis was in Atlantic Ocean and its name is not casual but relative to it. Now it is interesting to see where exactly it was as the most different views have been expressed at this issue. The following elements help in an attempt to define the area occupied by Atlantis. – The reports by Devin and Morgan about Atlantis population report to about 64,000,000 – Plato work in “Timaeus” – about the dimensions and size of Atlantis; The description shows Atlantis as large as Libya and Asia (known areas of that time). – The undersea geological findings, the mountain ranges, the reef necks and finally the human constructions. – The habit of the Mediterranean eels and those of Europe on one hand, and of America on the other, to travel thousands of miles in order to arrive at Sarcasso (seaweeds) sea, N.W. of England, to give birth and die. A rock has been detached there and sea weeds of… fresh water, of a sunk lake have been found and it is known that the eels can only be reproduced in freshwater. – I must accept that: Father Kirher (1678) put concrete arguments for Atlantis. The architect Partoklos Campanakis improved them in 1893, confirming Plato about the connection of Europe and America. Now I improve them a little bit more, relying on their previous discoveries. As it appears in the map that I designed for this purpose, West Atlantis had to be in front of Gibraltar and in a distance equal to that between Crete and Malta. Its North side was touching the Sargasso sea, N.W. and south of England. Its Eastern side, penetrated the large gulf which is formed between. North and South America in front of Panama Canal.
Between the canal and the main island of Atlantis there were the seven islands Pleiades, and a lot of smaller islands. – There were, also, islands, between Atlantis and Europe and Africa eg: Gorgonia Tritonis etc. All these islands were connected to the mainland Atlantis by reef strips. THE NEW ATLANTIS IN SOUTH AEGEAN It has already been confirmed that Atlantes had created colonies in the Mediterranean and especially in South Aegean, before the sinking of their island. Ignatius Donnelly, in his book: “Atlantis the world before the deluge” comparing, with scientific methods, the religious beliefs and the artistic work of the ancient Egypt and America concluded that: “Atlantis was the metropolis of a series of colonies from both sides of Atlantic”. Devin, after analyzing inscriptions and traditions accepted that: 1) “The Hesiod sea people reached Mediterranean from the West”. 2) The new inhabitants of the islands and the littoral countries of the Med. sea were Atlantes”. The tradition wants all the heroes of Atlantis, the sea people of the copper race and the Greek islanders especially, sons of Neptune. This is a proof that they are all descendants of Poseidonia that is of Atlantis. – The legend about Neptune’s omnipotence, starts over Gibraltar and after having conquered the insular Greece. He is throne on Olympus near the rest of the gods. Zeus, though, prefers him to stay in Atlantis and not to be involved in continental matters. – As John Kordatos, historian, says in “The Foretold to Homer”, the theogonic heroes: “ Hercules, Sirens, Nereids, Gorgons, Calypso and Circe, recount that they originate from Atlantes. Yet Homer himself, and Hercules and Achilles”. – The oldest religion, the Sun adoration, starting from the Eastern coasts of Atlantis, covers the Atlantic islands, the north of Africa the south borders of the Mediterranean and Aegean sea and reaches the Middle East Greece, Italy Iberia and flows back to Atlantis. – The following view is given by the facts the data and the logic. The carriers of the pre-historic civilization have been Atlantes. – Aztecs writing is similar to that of Maya as many searchers have proved. It is also similar to the Sumerian, the Egyptian the Hittites, Pelasgian and Cretan hieroglyphics and have been found in Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Syria, Egypt and Crete. – Pyramids and other magnificent buildings of the same technical construction have been found in Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Bahamas, Syria, Egypt and Crete. It has been proved scientifically that they were made by people with advance knowledge of Geodesy, Architecture and Astronomy. Their age was adapted between the 6th and 12th millennium, of the old chronic-accounting, that is by the time of Atlantis prosperity. – Cyclopean walls have been discovered in many islands, from Bahamas to Sicity, Cyprus and Troy and in some ports, in Italy, Syria, and Asia Minor and on the small island of Dia near Crete. These walls were constructed by Atlantes who after having been in contact with the Cyclopes, they subjected them and made them their sub missives. – The copper is spread all over Mediterranean like the trident and the sun as emblems and the Atlanto-bearing toponyms as the city called Atalanti a few kilometers away of Athens. – In Rhodes there were important inhabiting from the first period of the bronze, as in Troy, too. – It is now known as I have already reported the relation between the Greeks and Atlantes, the combats, the alliance and above all the relationship with certain Greeks and the birth of Apollon, son of the sun and light, in Delos. Prof Angelos Galanopoulos, head of Seismology department at National Technical University of Athens, after ten years of research (1950-60) published his book “The Ancient Atlantis”. He presented his work to the Academy of Athens. The professor places Atlantis
between the islands of Crete and Santorini and he claims that they used to be united and the section between them sunk during the years reported by Plato. – It is true that in the sea bed of Santorini different ancient elements of an excellent civilization developed from very old times. They were covered by the water the matter and the lava. This is an indication that this civilization has been disappeared after a volcanoes eruption. Professor Jacques Yv Cousteau searched the same area in 1975, with his submerging vessel Calypso. He was not able to bring important elements into light. This drove him to the conclusion to exclude the possibility of existence of Atlantis in this area. – A few miles South thouth, nearby the island of Dia, North of Crete he made important discoveries, such as Cyclopean walls, sunk docks of Ports etc. J. V. Luke, in his book “The End of Atlantis”, 1969, says that Crete was used as a base for attacks by the sea people and the copper race who were not different than the descendants of Atlantes of ancient Crete. – We have already met the Ideos Fingers in Crete, also, the disc of Festos, magnificent buildings. Daidalus and Icarus, makers of flying apparatuses and pilots, the incredible robots Talos and Taurus, the Tallian mountains the Idean cavern, facts, leading the Atlantis. Crete is the most important archeological centre of copper and bronze findings of the Greek territory. – J.V. Luke, as I have already mentioned presents positively and sustains the view that: “The mythical Atlantis civilization was the very ancient Crete civilization and Atlantes were people of the great Crete. – Such a categorical position, either positive of negative impresses all of us. Prof. Galanopoulos places Atlantis between Crete and Santorini, without considering the Atlantis dimensions, which from a range of descriptions it is shown to be greater than the whole Mediterranean and naturally, it was not possible to be situated there. – J. V. Luke makes the same mistake, in a greater extend, placing Atlantis in “large” Crete, in a space much smaller than that reported by Galanopoulos. Could the influence of Atlantis to America be so great though? – Finally, Jacques Yv Cousteau does not make a smaller mistake to completely exclude the possibility of existence of Atlantis between Crete and Santorini. Cousteau discovered important findings of Atlantical technique. He knew, of course, that in the ancient times a very remarkable civilization developed around this area. What he found in Santorini could not be important but surely were indicative. He under – estimated them. After all, I am sure that Galanopoulos and Luce have made the same mistake, over-estimating the historic elements and findings and under-estimating the space factor. As for Cousteau one is certain. He did not get into trouble to compare the historic elements and discoveries he made in the islands of Dia and Santorini. Accordingly, we are not sure that the investigations he carried out were the most appropriate for the discovery of a very ancient sunk civilization. – The most possible is that: None of the three has searched to find the golden section, the mean solution and view that always exists between such totally opposite views. And there is the golden section, that by a very curious way, it totally contradicts all three, it confirms… some of them.
– No, Atlantis never existed in the space between Crete and Santorini. Simply, it was not possible to exist, as Galanopoulos and Luce thought. But the elements and findings were so many that one cannot agree with Cousteau conclusion and exclude very relation with that area. Prof. Marinatos (head of the Archeology Department at Athens University) discovered a set of artificial teeth with big human elements – Our position and conclusion is the following: “The area between Crete, Santorini and Delos was colonized by Atlantes and when Atlantis sunk, the new Atlantis created and developed there. – Simply, could not be otherwise. The special relations between the two people, the ties, the alliance, the intellectual connections, the sagacity characterizing them, created excellent situations of spiritual communication and collaboration. The, almost, similar climatic conditions, the customs, the habits, the believes and religion, met a common acceptance. Even the short distance between Atlantis and New Atlantis did not leave margins for consolidation of the last one in- different areas. – Yes, the New Atlantis was in the south Aegean sea and some of its reminants were found by Cousteau, Galanopoulos, Marinates and others. – Over there, at the Atlantic Ocean, we must investigate for the Metropolis the mother Atlantis, where the Soviet mission found in 1979 remainings of gigantic staircases and walls. It seems that Plato focused the truth.

ATLANTES, NOT THE SPACE GODS The fundamental pretention of some writers who believe that “Civilization was brought to us by out-earth Gods, the Arians etc”, can be thrown away from a number of elements that I have already presented until now in my book “Atlantes and not the Gods” – A first response to these pretentions is the following:”The man did not need to be directed by super developed creatures coming from space, out-earths and Arians for whom I would ask: These out – earth comers where and how they secured their knowledge that Daniken asserts that they have transmitted to the man”. Recently, it has been proved that Arians and out-earths do not exist, at least, in the neighboring planets. It is proved, day by day that man is capable of all, and alone, without the aid of out- earths, can create civilizations and traditions. What out-earths indicate how the space – ships, the supertankers, the electronic brains, the robots, the suspended bridges, the tunnels, the sky scrapers the stadiums etc are made. For these after thousands of years it would probably exist the same question: who have constructed them? How could they transport these enormous volumes etc. The port, the airports, the drainage, systems the water supply networks, the telephone, will be another headache if one day our civilization faces destruction. – The toponyms that I have reported and hundreds of others that I include in my book “Atlantes and not the Gods” as well as others that I have already collected but not published yet, are true witnesses of the reality. Every place is responsible for its own history, its inhabitant’s history and the history of the heroes who have glorified it. Different people, transferred their own specific history, traditions and customs during their moving etc., to the new places they settled. To these places they give the same toponyms and keep their good memories and the glory of their ancestors. – This was done by Atlantes, that’s why almost half of the world carries names like Atalanti, Allan, Axtlan the mountain Atlas, Atitlan, the geographic Atlas etc. – The mysterious trident of Andes, hear Pisco, reminds us of Neptune and Atlantis, as Peter Colozimo writes in his book “Astronauts and prehistory”. Atlantes and not out – earths were those who have constructed or designed the Cyclopean walls, the magnificent buildings, the ports and air fields, the domes and the pyramids that., “by coincidence” have been found in the axle of the Central America, of Atlantis, of the littoral countries of Mediterranean and its islands, of the Middle Eastland it has been proved that they are referred to the epoch of the Atlantis prosperity. – There is a column of Naram Sin of the 3rd millennium and perhaps before that at the Louvre. It presents a gigantic body who holds metallic tools and hews a tall rock. He wears a protective, rather metallic, helmet and a mask. Lower, in hewed projections of the rock there are 15-16 distinguished assistants who follow him working or praying. Two of them seem to be falling off. At the top, one can see a small and a large sun. Daniken, analyzing this representation talks about art on the rock by creatures of 8 m height. Scientific researchers’ proved that it is a man of 4m height and 227kg weight. Perhaps, this people were giants, not as tall as 8m, and they were not out-earths The out earths would never design suns, since flying in space they would know what the sun is. They would not adore it as a god and they would not make it their emblem. – Pyramids were found in the whole area previously mentioned. Im khotep, who is reported as the constructor of Sakara Pyramid, was a kind of Einstein of his epoch, a savant, an architect a priest who used only… tools made of copper. This pyramid was named “Temple of the Eternity and it matches the description of the Neptune Palace of the lost Atlantis. Daniken attributes these constructions to the out-earths without taking under consideration that: All the Egyptians had to work day and night, non – stop, for 560 years in .order to build the 15 known pyramids of Egypt, as it has been proved that the construction
started in 2.800 and finished in 2240 AC (560 years). This was not possible, of course, as they had to look for their food, as well as do various other things. They could not be constructed by any out-earths as well because even if we accept that they were giants they would need a whole army of them to do the job and a disembarkation of such a scale is not reported anywhere. On the other hand, it is well known that Hercules went to Egypt as a relative and allied of Atlantes, to set the daughters of Atlas free, who were kind napped by Vousiris the King of Egypt. He did not, of course, go alone against the Egyptians. He marched against them with a whole army of Atlantes who subjugated Egypt and remained there, instructing and supervising the constructions. -I am absolutely confident now, and I prove it in my book, that many elements and findings have been misinterpreted and distorted. – To close the subject I shall relate to you an entertaining story, that if, however, you analyze, it is going to give you a very useful interpretation and answer in what concerns Atlantis, Atlantes, the prehistoric civilizations, the several memories be quethed to us as myths, legends. For the large public, still *or many educated people, Minotaurus of Crete remained in their minds as a monster, half a bull and half a man with big horns. According to the tradition, this monster was a man-eater and it was eating the young Athenians, sent as a tribute to Minos, the king of Crete. None has ever thought that the bull is a vegetarian animal and consequently cannot be carnivorous at the same time. Also, there is no scientific source to claim that there were vegetarian and carnivorous monsters in the past. Is it therefore a myth? No, Not exactly. Plutarch, in Theseus life, makes things clear. A general of Minos, the strongest and wildest of all was named Taurus (bull). In the duel combats, that they were organizing from time to time in Crete, no native could fight him. They obliged, therefore, the Athenians young men to do so, after giving them the necessary training in order to entertain the king. Theseus had a fight with Taurus in front of Minos. Previously, Ariadne, his daughter, who felt in love with Theseus, revealed to him the technique that Taurus employed. Theseus tied up his opponents horse legs using a robe giving to him by Ariadne, as the peasants do even today to keep the horses with them. Theseus after having secured the maneuvers of his own horse killed Taurus easily and saved Athenians of the bloody tribute. There are thousands of explanations similar to that above for everything that continuous to be presented as mysterious so that they can no be attribuated to men, but to out-earth gods only as those of Daniken. Taking this opportunity I can inform you that I am still waiting for an answer that he has promised me since 1976. Answer that he never gave me when he visited Athens. I make no more comments. CONCLUSION The three different legs of my theory concern: a) The collapse of the theory that the out – terrestrials are the carriers of the pre-historic civilization. My own theory is that the “self luminous” people of this planet and especially Atlantes were the carriers of the very ancient civilization. b) The correction of the theory of Prof. A. Galanopoulos that Atlantis was located in Santorini. We must place there the New Atlantis established by the survived Atlantes. c) The final location of the Metropolis of Atlantis ‘at the Atlantic Ocean, as Plato did and as the discoveries and the Russians at the above place justify. Atlantic civilization flourished in a huge island just in front of Hercules columns. This civilization was similar to the one we have today and lost with the sinking of Atlantis.

GENERAL CONCLUSIONS (Chapter 21 Greek edition) In the previous chapter we put forward a number of general views relevant to the subject developed in this book. Recapitulating what was examined in the first and second parts of this treatise, we come to the following conclusions: 1. People were compelled by their environment and by an inner urge to devise methods to improve their lives. They began with the finding of food, and concerned themselves for their safety by taking refuge, first in caves and in cavities of trees. Then they made huts, mud huts, stone houses. From the primitive use of pure metals, they gradually improved them, to produce superb artifacts, jewelers and statues. 2. The people of Atlantis flourished in the years between the Stone and the Bronze Ages, occupying the area described in the preceding chapter with its favorable climatic conditions for such an advance. Consequently, Plato’s Atlantis was not Utopia. It was a reality. 3. Additional data on Atlantis from various very ancient sources, from incredible and apocryphal memories, find, traditions and legends, even the intelligence of eels, persuade us of its existence and the development of the amazing “mythical” civilization. The identification with the legend is perhaps due* to the misunderstanding of this poetic character. 4. The indefinite dating of very ancient events misleads people and the history of the human race and its civilization is presented as unconnected from the 2000th year of the old chronology and even earlier. The classification of the data we have presented will perhaps constitute the foundations of the time bridge connecting prehistoric with historical events and the point of departure for our course back towards the more ancient events. These data, however, which show the events in either a clear or veiled light shake many beliefs that have existed for centuries and which prevailed everywhere in the world. Science must not be based on superstitions. It must proceed to the imposed revision of old beliefs based of false data or on data which have been misinterpreted. 5. The heroes of Atlantis were confused with the giants and were identified with the then gods of the peoples, while their descendants hold their scepters and rule in the most populated regions of the mainly temperate zone of the earth, as “Sons of the Sun”, or as leaders and teachers, as scientists and wise law-givers, as builders of cities and organizers of states, as artists and cultivators. They were generally reformers and were concerned to a considerable extent with the health, eugenics and refinement of humankind. 6. Without doubt, the people of Atlantis were the unknown “people of the sea”, the builders of the Cyclopean walls, the imposing buildings, the pyramids and domes, the temples, alter sand oracles, the harbors and aerodromes. They were inventors, architects and engineers, the makers of a strong fleet and seafarers. They were experts in manipulating the copper, bronze and precious metals, which they gave to the peoples of the Mediterranean and Central America. 7. They made the Sun and the trident their emblems and later the Moon, the stars, the snake and the dragon, Their venerable ancestor, Poseidon, was worshipped in all the coastal cities as god of the sea and protector of seamen, like St Nichol as in Christian religion, and temples to that “god” existed everywhere, as they do to the modern holy man. The omnipotence of Poseidon is due to the many ships the people of Atlantis had at their disposal and with which they conquered all the islands around Atlantis and spreaded out into the neighboring areas later to colonize the coastal countries of the Mediterranean.
8. Atlas was par excellence the human hero who linked his name with his own country and with the countries in which the imperial people of Atlantis extended their rule. His kingdom was the brightest and most renowned, eclipsing all the later races, because in its day Atlantis flourished so much that the same king abandoned earthly matters and occupied himself with heavenly matters, astronomy and space – travel (Pleiades, Orion, Hermes, winged sandals, steeds and chariots, very old incomplete and complete pictures and descriptions reminiscent of airplanes and various flying objects). 9. The texts, ideograms, hieroglyphics and generally the language, beliefs, habits and customs, the kinds and forms of every art, the graphic pictures, symbols (trident, sun, snake etc.)., place – names and names of heroes and “gods”, birth right, the embalming of important dead people, incredible memories having the identical import, stone “idols”, graves, very ancient relics, all these constitute earthly finds. Their homogeneity in the temperate zone, east and west with Atlantis as its centre, is a living sign and data leading to the lost Atlantis, the metropolis of civilization, whence it spread to the east and west. 10. The geological disturbances and the natural upsets of that volcanic and seismic area with the apparently fragile earth -crust and under the pressure of the south and north currents of the strong winds in the area, the torrential rain and the rising-up by the force of the sea – waters that inundated the area, brought about the upheaval and sank the civilized island. The dispersal of those who survived in the regions around the Atlantic Ocean and mainly on the coasts of the Mediterranean and Central America previously colonized, the traditions and the descriptions in the same areas of the flood and the sinking of a large island, as well as the maps of unknown origin (atlases), not forgetting the indirect testimonies springing from the “myths”, complete the cycle of proof and evidence for the existence of the lost Atlantis. Since I am addressing myself to Erich von Daniken, I should like to conclude my book by answering the specific questions he formulates at the end of his book. “Return to the Stars”. First, though, I should like to emphasize that quite a number of Daniken’s assertions, observations, arguments, thoughts, questions and doubts confirm my theory, which I set up against his. QUESTIONS: 1. Have data about ancient traditions been misunderstood in the previous millennia? 2. Have our interpretations and our efforts been on the wrong track? 3. Are we examining what has always been in front of our eyes in a more complicated manner than it is in reality? 4. Have, intelligent, practical and technical instructions been interpreted as religious – philosophical mysteries? And 5. Perhaps traditions concealed in myths and religions have less mystery and much more realism than has been believed for whole millennia. To these five questions I answer YES, INDEED. It is true that many passages in ancient texts of traditions and beliefs have been interpreted with, various views that are far away from reality, intentionally so on many occasions, or they have been misinterpreted by mistake. They conceal less mystery and more realism, albeit human, earthly and not extra -.terrestrial, as we have partly developed in the previous chapters. With the extra -terrestrial view of realism I believe we lend great dimensions to the mystery and we end up in an endless chain of questions without answer. For the sake of argument, let us admit that the people of Atlantis learnt from the Martians. Were the Martians self -taught? No! The inhabitant of the planet Jupiter enlightened them. For this reason, and according to “Theogony”, Mars is considered the son of Jupiter. And who taught Jupiter? Of course… his father, Saturn! And Saturn? Titans reached Saturn from another constellation which the Giants had first occupied, and they had made an expedition from… Andromeda from… the Galaxy beyond! “Hail,
immeasurable depths and invisible heights”. We do not solve the problem like that, Mr Daniken. We are confused and create new problems. If we follow this course, we shall never arrive at self enlightened beings. How do we under -estimate the human race, man the creation of an important civilization of the past, present and future, by stopping at some beginning? We are not, of course, very, very wise beings! We could, however, respect what we were and what we are. We therefore discard the theory that we belong to externally enlightened beings. And in the event of man meeting intelligent beings in his passage from planets and stars in space, a thing that I believe will happen, that does not mean that his self-sufficient will be shaken. In any case, with the first investigations of the spaceships Viking I and Viking II, that landed on Mars on 20th July and 3rd September 1976, the “Martians”, who “gave us the light”, have been excluded temporarily from the extra-terrestrial beings. To your sixth question, I give you the answer that the fragments of human pre-history gave us and continue to give us sufficient information about our past. And I am optimistic about the future. There still exist many hidden and buried remains that will reveal to us many dark corners of the past. We can equip the bulldozers with tracing equipment before they destroy the buried precious material of our pre-history. Questions 7-15 about the investigations that should take place will be answered at the end. To questions 16 and 17 I reply that some foundation or an intergovernmental organization, such as UNESCO, should collect these, in your opinion, enigmatic data of ancient civilizations – quite a number of which I have decided in this book. To questions 18-21 the answer is that men were never blind. They did not give the necessary significance to earthly matters, because they are tedious. It is easier to wait for “manna” from heaven! We can kill one at her for matters that are often insignificant, and that can be solved peacefully. However, we spend more time and trouble buying some kind of uncertain hope. We still .do not understand that our best stroke of luck is our brains and our hands and the reward is the return from our work. In questions 22-29 Utopia is confused with metaphysics, the allegorical and the parabolic. The promises of religions from the time of their birth up to now are the glitter of our desires. We seek in the sky that we are missing on earth. A paradise, happiness, peace, tranquility. But we can create these assumptions on earth, too. Religions draw the human race towards the sky, not because man is seeking to find “god”, but because they promise him a happy life – after – death. What could be better than to enjoy it in “the Kingdom of the skies”, since it is certain that it cannot be continued on earth for more than an earthly century! The two final questions, 30 and 31, refer to the dream of mankind “to ascend to the sky”. This ascent in inverted commas has a double meaning. Ascent of the intellect for the explanation of phenomenon of the sky and the actual landing of men by spaceships on one or some or more stars. People have been seeking and trying for both of them from the very earliest times. I agree that, in order to succeed in this, a common universal language must be established for a new spirit to be developed, which must broaden our conscience and erase, if possible, our egoistic and mean – spirited feelings. This spirit is cultivated by many on a universal scale and will sometime, perhaps at the beginning of the next century, prevail in a world – wide society because it will contribute to the solving of earthy problems. It would be realistic for science to examine from all sides the interpretations that still today appear fantastic and refer to ancient texts, stone monuments, old coins, graphic pictures, vases, wall, floors, clay and metal tablets and fossilized sherds.
To questions 7-15, which we have left to the end, and to which, to some extent, you formulate proposals for investigations which should take place, and you ask if and when they will be realized, I reply briefly with an aphorism: I believe that the powers – of the earth are not blind. However, a blind egoism dazzles them, the glare of the old monarchic spirit, of self-interest and megalomania. By this spirit they are led to the unreasonable, provocative competition in armaments. But under the pressure of universal public opinion, if we do not wish to be lost like Atlantis, the powers will form peaceful proposition or cooperating in the field of research beneficial for mankind. I like wise believe that systematic future research will strengthen our conviction in the existence of lost Atlantis, the rulers of the world. VASSILIS TH. VASSILIS TH. PASCHOS (Authors Curriculum Vitae). – He was born in Kanalia, of Karditsa, in 1924. He went to the Karditsa High Scholl and continued his studies in Athens and Thessalonica. He took the Panteios School Diploma and a Diploma in Law. He is a Customer Inspector, devoting his spare time to writing and being a member of the Society of Greek Writers. He made his appearance in the literary world in 1944-45 by collaborating on Thessalonica newspapers.
