    NEWS October 2024

OCTOBER 2024 The recent cyber attack on the Internet Archive is deplorable and can be reasonably compared with the repeated burning of the Great Library of Alexandria. I have used the Wayback Machine extensively, but, until the full extent of the permanent damage is clear, I am unable to assess its effect on Atlantipedia. At […]Read More »

    Joining The Dots

I have now published my new book, Joining The Dots, which offers a fresh look at the Atlantis mystery. I have addressed the critical questions of when, where and who, using Plato’s own words, tempered with some critical thinking and a modicum of common sense.Read More »

Correspondence between Tony O’Connell and Patrick Archer

“It is time for this writer to  realise that assertion is no substitute for evidence.”

I notice that you never write that about  all the other so called theories.

The fact is that I do offer compelling evidence and you apparently cannot see
it nor understand it. This website’s existence will become pointless when and
if Atlantis is ever discovered, if it’s not now.

Dear Mr. Archer,

Please do not think that you have been singled out for special criticism. In  fact you are in distinguished company as I have made the same comment regarding  Ignatius Donnelly and John Michell. However, they have at least attempted to  offer evidence in support of their contentions. You have not and do not appear  to understand the meaning of the word ‘evidence’.

Tony O’Connell

A geography, with place names, that matches the geography  given in Genesis 2:8-14, and a believable location and cause for a Great Flood,  is as good as it gets on the subject of the Antideluvian World. The recently  discovered archaeological sites in the Black Sea is evidence that supports my  theses. The Semitic archaeological site at Byblos, the rock paintings at  Tassili N’Ajjer, the pygmy elephant bones and the Blue Grotto of Malta, and  Genesis 11:2, all support my theses. All the evidence, what little of it there  is, support my thesis. Just about all the other theories, Cayce, Donnelly. etc.  have no evidence, just baloney, pipe dreams, and conjecture.

Dear Patrick

When you put all these matters, which you do not mention on your website, in
the form of a coherent thesis, you can expect to be taken more seriously.

You owe it to yourself to explain your views in a manner that clearly explains
the reasons for your beliefs regarding Atlantis.

My website is regularly viewed by people in over 120 countries. If you
carefully argue your case I will be more than happy to post it on my website.

Best wishes

Tony

It doesn’t matter how much evidence and logic is applied.  This is something where the aphorism “They see yet they do not perceive,  they hear yet they do not understand” applies.
