Gustav LagneauGustave Simon Lagneau (1827-1896) was a French medical anthropologist. In 1876 he expressed the view that Atlantis had been located in Morocco.

He was one of a number of French commentators at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries who nominated Morocco, then a French colony, as the home of Atlantis.
