Nicklès, Jérôme
Jérôme Nicklès (1821-1869) was a French chemist who included the study of batteries in his research. He was associated with a number of scientific organisations including the Académie de Stanislas. The records of that academy contain an 1864 paper by Nicklès supporting the existence of Atlantis on scientific grounds(a) and locating Plato’s island in the Atlantic with the Canaries as prime candidates.
