Hall, Manly Palmer

Manly Palmer Hall (1901-1990) was Canadian born before being brought to the United States by his grandmother, where he developed a lifelong fascination with religion, philosophy and science. He founded the Philosophical Research Society in 1934. He joined Freemasonry in 1954 and in 1973 had the honorary 33rd degree conferred on him.

He lectured widely and was the author of over two hundred works on a variety of subjects such as Alchemy, Tarot, The Bible and Freemasonry. In 1940, he produced a booklet^[359]+ on Atlantis that is still in print today. In it, he claims that Masonry came to Egypt and Asia Minor from Atlantis and was originally concerned with sun and fire worship.
