The Quest for Atlantis (L)

The Quest for Atlantis [193], by John Stewart Bowman, is a general review of the Atlantis story and its associated theories. It is not to be confused with the more controversial Quest for Atlantis by R. Cedric Leonard.

Bowman’s book is comprehensive and well balanced, presenting both argument and counter-argument. Bowman was noted for writing on scientific subjects with young people in mind but this offering is more than adequate as a primer for the interested adult. Although there have been a number of new ideas regarding Atlantis on offer since this book was written, it is still an excellent introduction to the subject. However, the inclusion of a bibliography would have enhanced its value.
