José Imbelloni (1885-1967) was born in Italy but migrated to Argentina, where he became professor of Ancient History at the University of Buenos Aires. He stirred up great controversy with his book that promoted the theory of a south east asian origin for man in the Americas(a). He also spend many years endeavouring to unravel the truth behind the mysterious rongorongo writing of Easter Island. Nevertheless after intensive study he concluded that the script could not be deciphered.
Imbelloni also collaborated with Armando Vivante in writing a book on Atlantis that was later translated into French. Imbelloni authored a second book on Atlantis that was published some years later.
