Konrad Kretschmer (1864-1945) was a German geographer who devoted a chapter of an 1892 book^[1108] to the subject of Atlantis in which he mentioned in a footnote that a writer named Hafer proposed in 1745 that Atlantis had been situated in the Baltic Sea with its capital located on the German island of Rügen. A similar footnote was used by Gunnar Rudberg without any further information.

Hafer is the family name of German writer, who, according to Konrad Kretschmer and quoted later by Gunnar Rudberg^[0881.28], nominated in 1745, the town of Rügen as the capital of Atlantis^(a), which is situated off the north German coast on the Baltic Sea.
